      Filed 1/18
      accepted 1/19
      one bar

      I had no idea that I would be sent a separate form through medicaid for my children saying when they were covered. The letter attached says that same form was sent to the irs. Apparently they were not covered one month out of the year and when I filed I put full coverage. I’ve scoured the irs page for an answer, I feel like my return should have been rejected if they saw an error but now I’m thinking I’ll have to wait until the 9th to find out I now have to am-mend it and wait another 21 days for it. Any one else have this issue? what should i do?!?!

          Is this a turbo tax thing? It just seems like most people I’m seeing that are having this problem used tt like myself. Never ever had a problem getting my return until this first year of using them. Used another site for everyone else in my family that I do their taxes for and they all got there’s with no problem. This is so frustrating. I faced my 1095B to them with a letter on Friday, now I guess I just sit and wait some more?

            Almost the same boat… Filed on the 1-22 accepted on the 23rd, no bars on the 5th called on the 15th, was told that I needed the 1095B from healthcare.gov, told them I paid for insurance through my employer. They said to call healthcare ,gov. Heathcare.gov said I did not have heath insurance through them (duh). Said, I need to send a 1095C from the employer to the IRS. Found out that IRS now gives employers till March 31 to send the 1095C. IRS said fax a messaged to SP Rejects…. Looks like it is time to contact a tax advocate. No money any time soon :-(

              For those that got a 1095 B if you look at your return can you find the actual place that you put it? I got a 1099 HC from Massachusetts for me and my husband I can see that in my TT return, It did not ask about the kids who I got a 1095-B on I am wondering if that is why no movement at all for my return filed 2/4 accepted same day 1 bar as of today.

                Same issue. I filed my refund through turbotax on the 19th, it was accepted the same day by the IRS. I used the same dependent and myself, and USUALLY by a week I always get my refund. This year I started getting concerned after 2 weeks and the irs where’s my refund link wasn’t moving past the first bar. Accepted bar. I called them at 20 days, since they say it takes 21 days to receive. On day 20 called and held on for 24minutes before speaking with someone. I was told because it’s under 21 full days, they couldn’t see anything at all in my file and that the computer only generates issues or any little info regarding my return after 21 full days. On day 22 I called and was told that a letter had been mailed to my address requesting form 1095 B because they needed proof of insurance for my son and I. UNLIKE NEVER BEFORE, I’ve never gone through this before and we have had Medicaid, this is nothing new to us. I checked mail and the same day my IRS request info letter arrived, that 1095 B form arrived from Medicaid office. I had to fax the copy to IRS as simple as that, but darn it, the wait has killed so many plans. We really needed the money like last month already! And now I have to wait for them to receive that fax and “process” which my refund will come after 6-8weeks of processing they say. PAINFUL and angering.

                    @Meghan

                    I called and spoke to an IRS agent who was very nice. I told her that I filed on 1/14 and have had no bars and no letter and that I was concerned that maybe I did something wrong on my return. She put me on hold for a few minutes and then came back and told me that. I didn’t get the impression she was just telling me that to get off the phone…but I’m kind of hoping so because I need that money!

                      More than likely it won’t be caught right now. You can ammend your return. If you don’t they will catch it sometime during this year or next and send you out a notice about it.

                        @Nichole how did you find out yours was sent to the error department?

                          After doing a little more research, it seems like this year they are being more strict on reviewing those forms to make sure they match up. I cant think of any other reason for being delayed this long, I have NEVER gotten my tax return later then 10 business days. Unless there’s just a mass discrimination against early filers. The early bird is not getting the worm this tax season.

                            Mine was apparently sent to the error department (I filed on the 14th) and the IRS agent said many returns are being forwarded to that department because of Healthcare. I have no bars on WMR and no money yet. Sigh….

                            Btw….we all had health coverage, my children through Child Health Plus and then I have insurance through my employer but had Medicaid as a secondary coverage for about 6 months. So I am concerned something went wrong with that. I too said we were all covered when I filed through Turbo Tax and then got those forms a week or two later.

                            lolno

                              nope, I didn’t even have healthcare last year for all of my kids and me/wife. I just put I had it all year, they never caught it & still haven’t. ‘This year however, I do have medicaid or care or whatever the hell its called.
