Filed & accepted 1/18, no bars as of 2/4, no letter yet..??

I filed & accepted on 1/18. Lost my bar on 2/4 but amount is still shown. I also noticed the wording changed on my WMR – it went from “we received your return and it’s being processed, a date will be provided when available” to “we received you refund and it’s being processed.”

I called yesterday to the identity theft line to verify and the woman, Ms. Robbins, said I should not stress. She claimed the IRS didn’t start processing returns until 1/23. She said that when bars are gone, doesn’t mean it’s an audit, wait it out and not to stress.

Ughhhhh… why is this happening?

As far as I know I’m a weekly. Always update on Saturday with a ddd for the following Wednesday. I’m thinking that may be the case with those of us that lost bars Saturday 2/4 we got re-sequenced and will have to wait until Saturday 2/11 for an update. Ill try ordering transcripts sometime Friday and see if I got processed or not and pray for an update Saturday morning. If not at least I can call Monday cuz it’ll be 21 days by then.

I’m in the exact same boat. I lost my bars sometime Friday night/Saturday morning (this past weekend 2/4) when the IRS did a large update.

Can you look up your refund last year? I always get an email Wednesday morning at 12:30am (so tonight/tomorrow) on the last Wednesday before it would be 21 days saying my refund is on its way. I found this by searching my email.

Can you look it up and see if you’re maybe the same? I’m hoping tonight is our night.

I filed on 1/28 and accepted that day. No credits. Filed joint return with my wife through TaxSlayer. On Saturday 2/4 my status changed from 1 bar to the ‘your return is still being processed’. I do still show my refund amount as well.

I’ve called and talked to probably a dozen IRS agents at this point, calling a variety of numbers. I’ve been told by agents anything from wait 21 days, to I was probably randomly selected to verify my ID, to it’s not a big deal and I should see my bars return soon.

I’m also wondering if I am a weekly. I’m anxious to see what is reported over this weekend?

What all answers have all of you been given when you call and talk to someone at the IRS?

I have no topic just says how to keep looking for your refund status through the app and website. But my amount is still there on the left.

Do u still have topic 152 ? And is your refund amount still there ? I have the topic and no refund amount on the left anymore .

@just yes still amount on left. The woman I spoke with today at the IRS said it’s ok and that she thinks it’s getting closer to a date of deposit. But I don’t know. I still haven’t got a letter which is good but I’m hoping that something will change in the morning and maybe I’ll have a date. How long has yours been like this? Mine was Friday into Saturday so essentially sat morning is when I saw it like this. I’m wondering if I’m a “weekly” according to everything I’ve read.

If anyone else has had these bars disappear and then received a date please let me know!

@Kaitlin- yes, I filed though TurboTax. If it was just one or two of us with missing bars, I’d be more concerned but there are a lot of people so I assume it’s in process. Is your refund amount on the left?

@shellte- wow, that’s random. Where do you pick up the check? Did they say why?

I filed 2/18 git the one bar till sst then i had two bars and a DDD of tomorow the 8th but got a call this morning to come in and pick up the refund….

The same thing happened to me and I spoke with someone at the IRS this morning. Who stated the same thing. She said that means its in the process and is a good thing. So now we just wait for an electronic delivery date I guess? I’m hoping we get something tomorrow. Did you file TurboTax? I filed and was accepted on 1/29 and only had education credits. Filed single in the state of MA
