I filed Federal and State (CA) on 2/2 and accepted on 2/2. For about 2 weeks i had 1 bar, and on 2/18 the bars disappeared and i had the generic processing message.
So i decided to wait out the 21 days…that’s today. I contacted the IRS and California because they were both still processing.
The IRS agent was very nice and answered within a minute of dialing at 7:30am PST. He took about 5 min of going thru my account and returned to say that the Direct Deposit failed to deposit and a check should be mailed out in the next 10 days.
      Don’t lose hope! haha
I bank with BofA, and i confirmed my acct and routing info on my 1090 and with BofA, i’m not sure why it failed. It’s under my name as well.
After calling the IRS, i called California FTB, and they just said it would be 1-2 weeks more, that the 3 month message is just generic.

@Theresa nj If you know it’s a routing number issue, then the IRS will get the rejection and automatically issue a check. No need to call. Last year my tax person used the wrong Acct number (old account from prior year) and the IRS sent a check within a few weeks after it failed to direct deposit.
