I filed on 1/27 and have received no movement from my federal refund. State was approved and payed about a week ago. Everyone else that I know has received their ddd date of 2/10. Feeling like there is a problem and I am going to get dragged through a whole long line of proving stuff that they should already know. How stressed out can the IRS make some one, and they could care less and will never tell you anything of value.

          Also this might help:

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — This week the IRS started accepting all tax returns, but it’s warning taxpayers that it could take longer to process refunds.

Due to a shrinking IRS budget and new procedures for the Affordable Care Act, officials say it could be a rough tax season for many taxpayers. That’s why experts say it’s so important to file early.

The IRS has said refunds could be delayed by at least a week because of budget cuts. The earlier you file, the earlier you’ll get your refund.

The budget cuts have led to fewer workers, and that leads to fewer audits. The IRS may not have the manpower to conduct as many audits or collect overdue tax bills. The Washington Post reports the IRS could lose $2 billion in revenue that otherwise would have been collected.

It’s important for to get your return in early to reduce your chance of identity theft. Scammers will take advantage of procrastinators by stealing W-2 info, filing fake returns and cashing in on the check before you even realize it.

Tax experts and the IRS expects to see confusion this year surrounding the Affordable Care Act. ACA required most people to have health insurance last year or pay a fine. This year, expect to see a health care question on your return, in addition to listing the usual income and tax credits.

Throughout this process, you might want to call the IRS for help. One report said more than 100 million people call the IRS every year for help, but this year some experts are warning less than half of those callers will get through to a human being.

The IRS told 24-Hour News 8 that budget cuts have drained its resources, so workers can’t get to the phones fast enough. Callers could be waiting at least 30 minutes before speaking with someone.

The IRS recommends taxpayers go to its website before calling. There, you can find lots of information and tutorials that will likely answer your question.

Says in a nutshell that IRS got huge budget cuts…let a lot of people go and that we get to pick up the flak for it

The only part that frustrates me is that people filing after 1/31 have gotten theirs in droves and the rest of us pretty much did get skipped over.

From Turbotax: 7% of TurboTax customers whose returns were also accepted on January 27 have received their money.

I’d say no news is good news..

Except it could take up to 4 weeks just to get a letter..

The system is beyond repair and needed revamped… No other business gets away with this.. Using outdated computers and systems to do one of the most important jobs..

I filed on 1/27 and am still on only 1 bar. Join the club…we got jackets. Just amazing how IRS handles “our” money if they owe us…but God forbid you owe them money and its like “gimme gimme now now now.” Yet if they owe us money I swear the must drag the heaviest battleship anchor from California to Washington DC to get around paying us

I think its really just anxiety you feel when you see people get a ddd or refund when they filed after you. Even then if you just knew everything was fine and you would be given a date soon you would be fine. Just can’t help but worry when people after you get updates and money and you are just stuck with a bar.

I know there was an influx of ppl who filed before & on opening day. I filed 1/19 but wasn’t actually accepted until 1/21..I’ve seen no movement & haven’t heard a peep..no news is good news right? I’m hoping for my DDD in the next batch of weeklies.
After reading the horror stories of ppl who came under review having to prove things & waiting months just to get their refund my anxiety is ridiculous.
Maybe I was just resequenced b/c they’d notify me if it was something else right?

                      I am beyond mad!

My sister received an ID Verify 2 days ago in the mail..
She proceeded to go online and answer questions yesterday!
Today she had a DDD 2/10
                      She filed 1/30
                      She got her letter 2/4

While I still haven’t gotten my letter and I filed 1/26
                      I verified 2/4
                      Online and by Phone

                      WTF??!!

I can understand that feeling. A lot of us that got DDD of the 10th have been waiting for weeks. I’ve been waiting since the 14th. It’s frustrating but hopefully you’ll get into the next batch!

Your feeling skipped? You’ve just barely filed. 72% of those that filed on filing day just got their dd of 2/10 today. You’ll be waiting near the full 21 days.

I filed on the 25th, stuck on one bar and can only order account transcripts. I feel your pain! I usually have it by now!!
