      I did my taxes thru TT on Feb 4th, and accepted Feb 6th. Last time I called after 21 days, I was told my return was under review since Feb 13th and to allow btw 6-8 weeks to finish review. I’ve called 4 times, and got the same answer. Last time I called, the lady was real nice and told me that “it’s a good thing that I haven’t received any letters, and that my return amount still shows on WMR site. I wonder if anybody that have been in the same situation can tell me if I do have to wait to the full 8 weeks. It’s my first time having my tax return under review. Nothing has changed on my return for 4 yrs. O_o Thank you!

            Update:
            On Saturday I checked WMR site and got a message that says:

            Take action!
            We have received your tax return and it’s been reviewed.
            Tax topic 151

            What I don’t understand is, that last time I talked to an agent (a week ago), I was given the good news that my return was no longer been reviewed as of March 5th. That my return was been pushed in processing. Now, when I checked on Saturday, I got that massage. I’m lost and confused…and all that since of relief was just taken away by that message of WMR. Anyone might have an idea of what’s happening?

            I will keep updating my status till the very end. Thk u guys!!!

                I have the same message, Walt. But it’s the same message I’ve gotten since 2 weeks after Feb. 4th (the date I filled). The Rep told me that my return is no longer on review (that’s there’s nothing else to review) and expect a message from WMR anytime… even though Rep’s are supposed to advice us to wait 6-8 weeks after return been put on process. I just checked now when reading your reply, I WMR still shows the same message ” it’s been processed”. I’ll check again tomorrow Friday to see if something changes. I’m happy for you my friend. As I said before…the waiting is hell, but at the end it’s Paradise, lol.

                Keep your head up, Walt!

                  @Wally – Over night the message on WMR changed to “We have received your return and it is being processed” The IRS rep today stated that I would have one more update on Saturday with my DDD. I was wondering if the message changed for you as well in WMR.

                    @ Wally. that is great to hear. Just got off the phone with the IRS and they stated that I my unpostable got cleared as of yesterday. The gentelman told me that it could take up to nine more weeks from the clearance to see any activity. He did say to keep on checking WMR for any updates as they are likely. I am on day 36 and this is getting really exhausting. Hate to think that I have to go through this every year perhaps. They need to have a better way in getting this done in a timely manner. Please keep us posted if anything changes on your end. I am about 5 days behind your progress. I will know that there is change coming my way when you have some progress on yours.

                      March, 9th UPDATE!

                      I just finished talking to IRS and after the agent putting me on hold to check the status of my review, SHE SAID THAT SINCE MARCH 5 MY REVIEW WAS DONE, and they need nothing else to review!!! Finally. She mentioned that waiting time frame varies, but my return is been pushed for processing, and to expect a refund soon (even though IRS says btw 6-8 weeks). I thought there was no light at the end of the tunnel… But there is!!!

                      Good luck to everyone and I know that waiting is not easy…specially when we have no idea what can happen.

                        @Andrew:
                        Try this number…8008290582 ext. 652. I got this number here by someone and the last 2 times I called my waiting time was 5 minutes, and agents seem more nice to talk to.

                        @Walter:
                        Thk u for your response. When I was told about my returned been reviewed, I wasn’t told too much info. I thought it was irrelevant asking them for more info, since twice I was told that as long as my refund is still showing on WMR site, I should b ok. I never tried to get transcript in the past, so when I tried last week, I was able to create a login. Once logged in, I got the message of calling them due to identity theft. That was my reason for calling them the very first time. When I told them about that message, all agents reply the same thing…that because my transcript isn’t available, I get that message. They verified my identity thru a few regular questions and I always get that my return is under ” review”. To allow 6-8 weeks starting Feb. 13th. Several people told me to just wait, because “some” are just been reviewed for errors on their return. My returned hasn’t changed for 4 years, meaning claiming the same 2 kids. Only thing changed was address, in which a moved some time last year. I’ll call tomorrow again to see if I could get some more info as to why my return is been reviewed! I’ll keep you guys posted!

                            @jaz – I was told yesterday that once they lift the unspostable setting on your return that it takes six to eight weeks from that day. I hope that your TA is able to expedite this. I don’t have a TA and don’t qualify for one so I am just a sitting duck.

                                  I’m not even sure what that is…

                                  I’ve been told it was under review for ID issues from 2013. Who knows if this is true.. I’ve spoke with various agents each saying it was sent to another department for manual review, the issue was being resolved. I ask if I needed to do anything or send anything. Told there was nothing I can do. Sometimes this just happens and can take 6-8 weeks. I ask if any letters were being sent or anything like that. Told they haven’t sent anything and as of now, no correspondence has been made.

                                  My advocate sent notice the 13th to verify identity and ask refund be released. She says they have until end of day on the 9th to respond. She will then get back to me on the 10th.

                                  I have no clue how this will help or what it will do.

                                      @ Nsee – Why were you under review? Did you ask if your file is unpostable? some representative of the IRS dont even bother to give you more information as that is how they are trained. You have to somehow know or learn what to ask so that they look into your file further. As long as your file is not unpostable then you should be right along.

                                        I filed 2/2 as well, told I have to wait 6-8 weeks from 2/9. I have an advocate that is suppose to call me 3/10. I called irs today, no change. It’s being resolved 6-8 weeks. Called advocate she says nothing she can do. She will call me 3/10 with some info, but hasn’t received anything. I need this money for bills, not a new flat screen..

                                        I’ve seen so many people who’ve gotten their returns to blow.. While I’m sitting here, needing mine to get by! Really annoyed.

                                          Wally,

                                          Are you under review for Identity theft? Why are you under review? I filed 2/2, accepted 2/2 and bars went missing 2/6. I tried to pull transcripts and it said that there was an identity theft issue. After a few calls they told me that it would be six to 8 weeks from 2/6. Last week they told me that it was 6 to 8 weeks from 2/17. I called yesterday just to follow up just to find out that my taxes were unspostable. They told me that if I wouldn’t have called that my taxes would have just sat there for 8 weeks until someone entered updated info into my taxes file. Now i have to wait six to eight weeks from 3/3 in order to get my taxes processed. If you are under review this long, call them and make sure that your filing is not listed as unpostable. If that is the case you will be in the same boat with me and you will have to start the six to eight week countdown again. It totally sucks but there is no way around it. I haven’t heard of anyone as of yet in any forum stating that their file ‘under review’ to be resolved earlier, only with a tax advocate.
