Let’s start a new thread for anybody who was told they were under a review of one kind. Whether it was 6-8 weeks or 30-60 days cause at this point it’s all the same anyways!
Filed 2/2
Bars disappeared 2/20 and gave generic return is still processing blah blah. Kept TT 152.
Ordered both transcripts that Monday on 2/22.
Told today 2/25 was under a 30-60 day review. No additional info needed and for the time being no letters being sent out.Basically was told to ride it out! Let’s update each other to see who finally gets their DDD and after what changes or news they’ve heard or gotten! Hang in there everyone at least it’ll come eventually! =D

I filed 2/6/16. Received a CPO5 dated March 7. The 45 days is up in 2 days. Then they tell me they will file a 4442 to red flag it and tell them I haven’t heard anything. They have til May 21 to respond to the 4442. It would have been much faster if they would have asked for documentation to verify. Then again–maybe not–it is the IRS.

Filed and accepted 2/4/16 ID verification on 3/2/16, I have called several times and have been told its not released yet. One person got it released in August, I called back last week person told me it was released and then held again. This is UNREAL!!! supposedly they are required to pay interest on returns held 6 months past tax day… which is rapidly approaching! Waiting 8 months for my return….ridiculous…..

Here’s my update:
NOTHING! They sent me a letter say they received my information. Please allow them 60 days to process it and they said if they cannot complete it I will receive a letter by May 14, 2016 requesting additional time. Why do they need possibly more than 90 days to verify my children and income? I mean what’s going on with them? I know I’m not the only person in the world but I wouldn’t think it’ll take this long to verify my income and kids information. Its so dang frustrating. Right now I’m on a 30 minute hold and I’m sure I probably won’t get any answers because they don’t tell you any thing at all. this is super insane.

Filed 1/12 Electronically thru Taxact. Accepted 1/31/16 . Saw This on WMR about 2/5/16:
We have received your tax return and it is being reviewed. You will receive a notice from us requesting additional information within 30 calendar days.
You may not receive all or part of your refund until we receive and review the information we requested.
Around 2/25/26 it had change to this:
We have received your tax return and it is being reviewed
Please read the following information related to your tax situation:
• Tax Topic 151, Your Appeal Rights
If you have questions or need additional information, please have the following on hand when you call:
• A copy of this page.
• A copy of your tax return.
• The Social Security Number, Filing Status, and refund amount claimed on your return.
• Any notice that you have received concerning your refund.
Please mention reference number 1262 to the IRS Customer Service RepresentativeI called 2/26/16, the CSR ask if I had receive a letter ? NO… put me on hold for about 7 min, ask could he put on hold for 7 more min so basically he really didn’t have any answers, just that they were going to further review my taxes and contact them within 45 days if I don’t hear from them..REALLY
**UPDATE** Called today after being put on hold for 10 min..that my taxes were waiting basically for an okay to be examined…Why???? -

Filed on 1/14
1/30 went under “review”
Received a CP75 letter two weeks ago saying I had until 2/15 to reply.I filed my 20 yr old apparently made me get flagged. Anyway, I priority mailed them my kids info. They were asking for clothing bills, grocery receipts, rent receipts , or, utility bills…birth certificates, proof my babies live in the same house as me etc etc. THEN they wanted to see all my self employed income. So I had to send them over 150 copies of checks and I stapled my receipts to them. I was told they will get back to me “within” 30 days. Oh and if you require a signature for all this mail they said they take additional time to process.
I called yesterday 2/29 to see if it’s received I was on hold 85 and a half minutes so I gave up and hung up. So I’m just waiting on my audit results I suppose. I’m over it. It’s not like it’s a lot of money.

finally an update:
1-23: filed/accepted
2-8: called IRS to check status, told my refund was on hold
2-8: requested Tax Advocate
2-11: told I was under review for income verification; faxed info same day
2-13: lost bars, but kept tt 152
2-22: called TA for update, was told case assigned and actively being worked. IRS had until March 1-2 to respond if not before
3-1: TA called and advised refund is being released, but could take 3 weeks to issue refundI did receive a CP05 letter, but can’t remember what date I received it
Hopefully it will not take the full 3 weeks. -

My sister went and had her taxes done with a local person in town.
Filled 2-8-2016
Accepted 2-10-2016
Approved 2-15-2016
DDD 2-18-2016On the 24th her DD still hadn’t hit so she called the IRS and they told her she needed to call an 800 number and to make sure she had her 2014 and 2015 taxes on hand. It took her 3 days to get thru. She was then told that her income was not sufficient for the refund amount expected and she was under a full review. She was told if this was by error her refund would be adjusted and reissued but if her taxes were submitted fraudulently then penalties would be incurred. My sister’s tax fillings say “prepared by self” not the company that actually prepared them. If she will receive any refund this year it will be no sooner than May 2016. Let this be a lesson to all filling taxes. Letting someone play “funny money” with your taxes is not worth the extra $2000 you may receive- that is if you don’t get caught first. I feel bad to an extent for her but nieveness is not an excuse… She trusted the lady who did her taxes and now she’s struggling to answer the review questions because she doesn’t understand the questions or how the deductions were issued….

Filed 1/25, Accepted 1/27, verified 2/10, ordered return transcript 2/12, bars went missing 2/13
No codes, no letters. Transcript has no codes and the exact info that is on my original return.
Cycle code 20150605.
Called on 2/2, was told under review, and if anything needed, a letter will be sent.
Called yesterday, was told under review for wage, income. and credits. Stated that a letter is scheduled to be sent out next week. . .
I am tired of waiting. . -

Well apparently they are going to review everyone.
Filed and accepted 2/8 told today under review could take 6-9 additional weeks. To me they just are buying time to do the returns. This is bull to bad you can’t buy time for them when they want theirs they just garnish you. -
February 28, 2016 at 12:44 pm #4144542OkYall
Welppp… Still nothing for me!!! I can’t believe this BULLSHIT! I wish all I had to do was verify cause those people are seeing DDD’s!!! I’m gonna call back again tomorrow and see if I get the same bullshit story. Still no letters and nothing has changed!

Well I’m officially screwed. Accepted 01/19, bars disappeared on 01/30. Received the dreaded CP05 letter yesterday. The thieves have it dated as March 7th so they can further stall in giving me MY money. It states that they are “reviewing my return and if I do not hear anything from them by April 21st that I should call”.
I went through the very same BS last year, did not get my refund until the middle of May. The only thing they did to “review” my return was to call my employer to verify my wages at the beginning of May (after I called when my time was up and hadn’t heard from them). Meanwhile they sat on my refund for over 90 days, earning themselves interest. Multiply that by the millions of returns they screw & review and it’s quite a large chunk of money. By the way I was able to order my transcript – it means nothing. Racketeers

Filed 2/1
accepted 2/3
stuck on one bar until 2/19
able to order account 2/8(but it was all 0’s)
able to order return 2/19 (still haven’t received)
bars disappeared 2/19, still have tt 152″ your refund is still being processed”
Called 2/25 and they said I was under a 30 day review for ed credits…but honestly the minute before that the agent told me everything looked fine so idk about that statement. They can’t review all of america!!!!
same as of this am 2/26 (this was supposed to be my ddd)
it better be 3/4 or earlier.
This is getting a little ridiculous. -
February 26, 2016 at 9:06 am #4144059Boo
No and it’s funny because a lot people get confused about your bars being missing and just assume that because it still says your refund is processing and you still have maybe your DD152 code that nothing seems wrong but that’s a lie! Bars missing is never a good sign and they never even sent me a letter or gave a bad code on WMR! So truly if I didn’t even call I would have had NO idea I was under said review and would have still been waiting thinking I was just still processing. I wish they would at least tell me the exact reason and what they’re looking at but all they said was that somebody was just going to be looking it over to make sure it was all good.

I filed march 4 and irs recieved it the 6th i had one bae for a week then the message saying your tax return is is still being processed a refund date will be provided when avaliable. Monday i called a number that was given to me i lied and said i had to verify my id so they are forced to pull up your account once u say that but my hold up is that since i use a ip pin it takes a lil longer to process and she said it takes 6-8 weeks so i left it at that. Then checked it the next day which was tuesday it saying we have recieved your return and its being processed for i got my fingers crossed we got some progress

Did WMR tell you that you were under review or did you get a letter in the mail?

These clowns are taking this garbage way too far. Same exact boat as you, same filing date, ordered transcripts 2/20.
I understand fraud protection, even agree with it. But it seems like the IRS misinterpreted there own FAQ. Perhaps it should say this
“9 out of 10 returns are forced into unwarranted review if filed between opening day and March 1st. Therefore we guarantee 10 percent of the tax paying public will be ecstatic with our performance”
