We received an email from TT today. HEY! Great news!! You don’t have to pay taxes on the first $10k. BUT, uh oh. The IRS hasn’t decided on how they will handle that. Too bad for you! But we’ll email you once we know.

      So. Just. Great.

We’re not planning on amending. I thought the timing was interesting, and why didn’t they send this out a week ago? lol

Good catch StillWaiting. Subtract your original refund amount from what is on TT from the refund amount showing after you click “add a state” and you will get the refund amount the IRS owes you for the unemployment portion.

Dont ammend…if you go on TT and look at your previous taxes filed…click on this years. Then click add state…dont click continue! Look up at your 3 lines and see what your refund amounts are. This should reflect the difference you will get back from unemployment taxes. Then click back.

Dont ammend! If you go on TT, they have updated their system to reflect the credit. Click on view all taxes, click on this years. Then click on add state…dont click continue! But look up at the 3 lines and your amounts should reflect the change! Click back!

They have updated their system for those that have not filed yet to reflect the credit. The IRS will eventually send you that difference, and possibly your state, whenever they get around to it🙄 You dont have to ammend it! It will put you back further in the que

That’s nuts! I just got a DDD and they did not adjust for unemployment, If they don’t issue something or figure out something within two weeks from the DDD date, I will amend.
