You guys this happened last year. You should already know this. You won’t get your refund until the middle or end of February. Everyone going bat sh*t crazy in here. Last year I needed the money to move. This year I need the money to buy a new car. But I am not stressing like last year. I know it’s going to be late. If it comes sooner, I will be happily surprised. But I’m not expecting it.

“The IRS also notes that refunds cannot be issued before mid-February for tax returns that claim the Earned Income Tax Credit or the Additional Child Tax Credit. This applies to the entire refund — even the portion not associated with the EITC and ACTC. While the IRS will process the EITC and ACTC returns when received, these refunds cannot be issued before mid-February. The IRS expects the earliest EITC/ACTC related refunds to be available in taxpayer bank accounts or on debit cards starting on Feb. 27, 2018, if they chose direct deposit and there are no other issues with the tax return.”

Now I have bad news for people who didn’t efile and need their DL/ID. The IRS will send a letter for you to verify yourself. Your refund will be delayed just from that alone.

I’ve been highly shocked people have filed without their DL. I am a tax preparer and I haven’t been able to efile a return with a VALID DL/ID.

I think if you stop expecting it, it will happen faster than sitting there stressing about it.
I know we all need the money, but stressing on here is not going to help. It’s giving you false hope.

      Just for info

Now that I look very odd, I was accepted 01/23 and refund was for 02/23. Exactly a month later.
