If I have the path act message on my WMR, does it mean I’m approved?
Today’s update… Went to wheres my refund this morning and the message now says my refund is being processed, Short message, no other info. That’s great but I am surprised there is not more discussion on this PATH act mess considering it effects the people who need their money the most. As I said before I don’t know how this protects anyone. Can anyone out there enlighten me?
Just for information’s sake I will add that I filed the 2nd week of January and return was accepted early, if I remember correctly I it was a week after filing. I got no further updates until I looked into Where’a my Refund earlier this week.
This PATH thing is ridiculous… I do not understand how withholding peoples tax returns longer protects anyone from tax hikes. If I had known that my funds would be withheld this long I would have opted out of the EIC. It’s not as if I got much back based on that anyway. It’s a shame that there wasn’t a disclaimer in the preparation software that warned that if you claim this item, you are voluntarily slowing your own return. I am having a horrible winter and I desperately need my money.
it means your return has been processed however it does not mean approved to know more on your actual approval process is best to check the codes on your transcript. Many people last year after path message updated to a direct deposit date, take action, or code.
@gsk158 That message doesn’t mean you are approved.
