Was curious to get a solid answer on this. If i have received the PATH act message on WMR, does that mean my refund was APPROVED and now i am in a holding pattern until the 15th to receive my funds. There may be a bunch of other topics on this but figured I should get a clear answer from those on here who know.

Question: I have cycle code 20170505 on my transcript. Can anyone tell me what week that is? Last week i read it was the week of 2/13 and now I’m being informed that it is the week of the 20th. I’m confused.

Omg….so sorry for you. This is awful news.
Did you have TT152 on WMR at the bottom?

What codes should I be looking for?

It actually does mean that youre approved IF the transcripts are filled in correctly with the proper codes etc.

Nope, it does not mean u are approved. I have the same message as everyone else and I got audit papers in the mail today.

my understanding from irs rep is that’s its common for the refund amount to not be on a path act message wmr status and it will be back up when the 15th rolls around

                    i have eic

I’ve been wondering the same thing. And looking at the direct deposit dates seems to not apply to us. 7 more days and we should have some info.

If you can order your transcript, you should be good. I have never heard of anyone having a “good” transcript have any issues. Now, that doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t happen… just my experience with them.

By “good” transcript, I mean one that states you have a processing date for the amount you are expecting. Some people owe old debts and get code 826’d or 570’d.

The only sure fire way to know is to see a code 846, which for those of you affected by the PATH Act, you won’t see until after Feb 15th.

I don’t think any of us can give you a true answer of yes, because we are all in the dark. But I am pretty sure because of past experience that once you can get your return transcript your good to go. It also seems like everyone that has the PATH message can order the return transcript.

same here i was able to order transcripts so i’m hoping that means we are close to being finished processing. And hopefully within the first batch that is released after the 15th

That’s a question that I have as well. I can’t say if it is or isn’t true, but I can say that others, as well as myself, have ordered both return and account transcripts for the 2016 tax season. I noticed that if you were able to do so in the past, that you would get your refund soon. This year may be different because of the new tax law. I was able to order both of my complete transcripts immediately after I moved to the “Path Act” message, so it might be finished, but who knows. The only sure way to know is to get an answer from someone who actually works with the IRS. Hopefully, the forum has a few IRS workers that monitor the threads.
