Does Calling Speed Up The Process?

I was thinking about something. Last year my refund was delayed until May (Filed and Accepted 2/2 last year) due to a minor issue. Around the end of May I decided to call the IRS because I wanted to know WTH was the hold up! I called and spoke to a very nice lady and she told me there was an issue with my taxes that they had to fix and that I would receive my refund in a few weeks. Less than a week, may 3 days, later my refund was deposited into my account.

Has anyone who has called this year seen any type of updates or movement after calling? I’m thinking when you inquire they have to pull up your account which allows them to finish processing it faster. Idk. I’m thinking about calling in the morning just to see.
