I filed 01/06, was accepted 01/12, and was offered a ddd of 02/03. The IRS tried moving funds into my account as of 02/01 but was rejected due to mismatched SSNs for head of household (long story). I’m curious to know if anyone else has this bank, or if anyone here has had another bank but also ran into the rejection issue this year and has an update. Thanks in advance.

How long did it take to say rejected by bank?

DDD was for today, called and found out I was rejected by my bank because I am not the main account holder and the deposit was sent back to the IRS. Now the task becomes when will I see a paper check. From what I have read from last year and this year is that it could take a few weeks or it could be August before I see that money it just depends. I guess we just keep each other updated and go from there. Good Luck to anyone else in this situation I hope things move fast for us all, but who am I kidding this is the IRS. If we did everything they way they do things it would take a year to digest yesterdays meal…

Treasury confirmed the check was mailed this week, so let’s see how long it takes to receive. Will try to update.

waiting on our DD now. ill update asap. nvr had a issue with bluebird refunds before, but who knows this yr. its been my contention that because funds go through sbbt first, the deposit will be fine. it was the last 3 years for us so we’ll see.

I’ll let you I really destitute and really need your money before your taxes come then I may see you getting a RAL but the fees are astronomical but some guy on another thread on here said that he’s been getting along and never charge the fee that’s a lie cuz believe me if they can make money off of you they’re going to make money off of you like rightway auto is making money off of this raggedy ass van I bought from them lol

Such is the bureaucracy in which we live.

Quoting @mcrj78: “You can have a bathroom mirror that shows you weather and news while you shave..but you can’t get a tax refund no sooner than a month from filing date? REALLY??!!!?!?!”
The bathroom mirror wasn’t a government-run project, lol. Even a blind man can see our system is a total disaster, and it was setup to be this way; inconvenient things happen to those who simply don’t matter in the grand scheme of things. They intentionally hire idiots, divide the entirety into departments (but no one talks to each other so the right hand literally has no idea what the left hand is doing), and this can be divided into subsections upon subsections of government. The DMV is a perfect example of that. They want the confusion, they want the stress, because it’s one more thing to keep us from having time to actually DO anything about it.

The problem herein is that people who steal identities of unknowing victims USED to be able to deposit the fed tax return in any account (prepaid) without any checks to avoid fraud…
Now they check up on it, like they should’ve all along. So now Joe Shmoe nextdoor can’t weed through your garbage during the year, and get your DL/exp/issue, SSN, DoB, and file your taxes for you and have it deposited and spent before you ever know it was even a thought..And by the time they catch up with Joe Shmoe, he could be living in another state doing that to someone else…
Let’s face it, this year’s long wait time and unheard-of periods of no news are because of damn criminals. So much fraudulent tax money went to crooks last year (and 2014) that the IRS has to do a blanket screwing of everyone who’s honest + the thieves. If things went like they did in the past, someone could file their taxes today (Feb 5th) and by Wednesday of next week they would have a pending deposit.
I know because I did just that last year. Filed taxes for my wife’s parents on Friday evening. On Wednesday they wanted me to check for them and see if it was coming, and sure enough…”Deposit sent” and the date was the following friday…which actually it deposited on the thursday prior to.I do taxes each year for a few family members (since i’m the “computer guy” in my family and have been for about 15 years now).. and I have seen it go from ridiculous (back when we didn’t have it so well, you could take your last check stub and walk out the door with $1000 of your $7000 refund)..
To not so ridiculous and somewhat headed the right direction: IRS made it where you couldn’t use last check stub to file, and the PREDATORY loans that HRB and others were doing were also made illegal (mainly because they charged a 497% interest rate annually)…and you could actually file taxes and not have to worry about it being a month or two…
To now, back to being ridiculous again: you can now do the predatory loans again…
and it takes ten times longer than it used to before all the ID theft crap.Sure there’s a market for people who just won’t wait for their money..and they are raking in hand over fist finance charges from those few..as they should…but bear in mind that the $5000 you get sometime this month will spend the same whether you get it instantly, or have to wait a week.
It took me years to convince my wife’s parent to stop going into a pawn shop to file taxes…
They were waiting the same amount of time that we were, and I was doing our taxes via FreeTaxUSA..
And even got ours back faster than they did a few times. Once they realized they were paying $700 to file taxes, and could’ve been paying $12.95…they came and asked could I do theirs also.
It’s ridiculous that a business model preys on people who are in need (of their own money) and are only out to help you put it in their hand even faster by filing and borrowing money against your refund…with a 300%+ interest rate.I went back and added up the 3 years that we did our taxes and did RAL loans…just the finance charges for the 3 years…
These were years where EIC was a big thing for us..
Just 3 years of filing, we paid $2200 in fees. (used to be that places could charge you a percentage of your refund amount as a fee…)Just not sensible…but neither is the long wait times we’re seeing in 2016. It’s 2016…You can have a bathroom mirror that shows you weather and news while you shave..but you can’t get a tax refund no sooner than a month from filing date? REALLY??!!!?!?!

I have them, As a fee free side thing for my Girls… it will get rejected if its a family account. I didn’t that a year or two ago. It was rejected because the SSn didn’t match… I wanted to send it to daughters but I had to be the main person on it… so it will send it back… it took about two weeks to get the check back form that mess up..

@Hiloshark: Unfortunately I filed directly through them. No hope there, but I wish I’d have done that, lol.
@YeahBuddy: Tell me about it. All I can really do is hope they send it out sometime in the next century.
@allen: I wish you luck and I really hope it goes through for you. Not knowing is misery.

If your funs go threw SBBT first, you wont have a issue. Its when your return goes from treasury straight to the card is when they check name and SS. Sbbt just sends to acct regular DD no additional verifyneeded. Why sbbt doesnt do this is beyond me.

@Allen: Aye, you would think AmEx would have a looser policy about it. I mean, if you are on the return, it shouldn’t matter if you are depositing the money. If you are on the return, obviously you have business with that money, lol.

@mcrj: That is information I am already aware of, but I appreciate you commenting. That information just doesn’t help me at all once it’s been accepted, which it has been. I just want to know if anyone else has been rejected and is expecting a check. That’s all.

You gotta at least have him as named on account if doing that… That’s why rejected. If you had put him on it before they sent deposit, you possibly could have caught it, but too late now. They will send paper check
