do not verify id before 21 days is up

i verified online before my 21 days was up. two weeks later which is today, my return still said processing. i knew something was wrong because i seen more then 30 people on this forum claim to get a ddd within a week after verifying. Friday that just past, i got a letter from the IRS dated a week after verifying. it said they needed me to verify my id and until then my return will not be processed. so i called the IRS rep, the lady looked me up and said my case was still under review. she said if its been 2 weeks after verifying my id, my case should not still be active for a review. she said it would have been taken off hold by now and placed back in normal rotation. i told her i verified online a week before my 21 days, and it said i passed. she said you can not jump ahead of the system before your 21 days is up, it will not go through properly to be acknowledged. it’ll be as if u never verified. she said the id verification reps wouldn’t of even spoke with me about my return if i wasn’t past my 21 days. so to all that’s trying to beat the system, they cant be beat. wait your 21 days, call and verify your id if that’s the case, and you’ll get your return within 2 weeks. that 9 weeks bs is something they are trained to tell us to keep call volume down, a rep told me that personally.

Same here guys!! My bars went missing some time last month. I called 2/9 to verify my id and was told everything was A OK. I would see a change by 2/15…. Of course NOTHING… Called today and was told that I needed to verify my id. I told the guy (really nice guy btw) that I had already verified my ID last week. He said that since my 21 days we’re not up it got put back on hold for ID verification. I honestly didn’t even believe it until I came to this site and see that other people are experiencing the same issue. It was like 655 pm by the time I got off the phone with him so now I have to wait till tomorrow :(

So from the time you ID Verified, how long did it take before you received the information regarding when your deposit date would be? And how did you receive the information regarding the deposit date? I don’t have anything to look at to show me anything. I have to on what the tax advocate said this evening which is in line with what you just said about the letters being generated etc.

I ID Verified on 2/4 because I had code 9001. I got a DDD for 2/18. Yesterday I got a letter in the mail telling me to verify identity. Called my advocate, she said letters went out in one batch on the 10th, EVEN if you already verified, the letter was generated the day you started processing but not printed and mailed until the 10th. She said ignore the letter. My DD is pending for tomorrow. Took 14 days….not 9 weeks. Have hope!!

I received my ID verify dated 02/10 yesterday too! I called the IRS today regarding it. The guy said well I don’t see anything holding your return up so most likely that was the only issue however, I was just advised to tell you to go ahead and call the tax payer protection no. Just to be safe on what I just told you. I couldn’t get through all day. From 8:30am on to 5:30 on, 20 calls later, nothing. Every time I called I got a message saying high volume of calls and would tell me to call back and hang up on me. I called a tax advocate and she said it was ID Verify and to ignore the letter since I already verified. I asked her again r u sure? She got snippy and said listen to what I am telling you. Forget the letter you received. You already verified your identity. You only need to verify once! and it’s processing under manual review whatever that means I don’t know??? She said now you need to just be patient and wait the alotted time you were given and hopefully your refund will come sooner. I’m not real thrilled with her advice..

I did the same thing yesterda . I called IRS and verified myself. But when she went to process it for payment/refund. She told me that I couldn’t verify b4 my 21 days. Can someone help me with thi . Should I be getting a refund soon. I see that every one who return was accepted on 2/4 had s DDD 2/18 I also filed 2/3 accepted 2/ . Someone please give me hope

I filed 01/24. I to thought I would verify early after reading all these forums. I verified successfully on 02/08. Yesterday, (Tuesday) I received the ID verification letter to verify either online or at the phone number. I tried verifying online again but I received a message saying unable to verify. I’m calling later today at that Tax Payer Protection number to find out what is going on. I did call, about 4 days after verifying online at the Tax Payer number, seeing as I had more time to wait on hold and the rep said well if you already verified before your 21 days and you received a message of successful verification online, then that was the issue. He said bc I went ahead and did that, he couldn’t view my info. But it was a good thing I did b/c no telling when I would have received the letter and I was looking at 9 weeks out not 6 weeks per the online verification message and yes they r told to say 9 weeks out per script.. Didn’t all make sense but I said okay then seeing as I was able to verify successfully online and the message also read my processing would once again begin on my return. I don’t know what to think at this point…

kit0kat2009 u could be right, the online site maybe broken. she could have just said that to brush me off and wouldnt have to deal with me.

Id verified 2/4
2/16 would be my 21st day
I got a Ddd 2/13
Ddd 2/18

So what she told you was false.. Today 2/17, I received my ID Verification needed paper.. It was marked 2/10 for delivery..

I verified online, didn’t trust it..
So I verified by phone, as well..
If I waited to get this letter I wouldn’t be getting my money this week..
Maybe the online system is broken..
