WMR finally updated but it shows a paper check will be mailed. I filed with turbo tax and requested direct deposit. I’m sure the bank account information is correct. It’s a joint bank account with both my husband and my name on the account and we filed a joint return.

Any ideas on why it would have been switched?

I get over 10k every year because my income is nontaxable and it goes dd every time. Except two years ago, ….for some reason they kicked it out on a paycheck. Honestly, the check arrived before it was supposed to, so I wouldn’t be worried. They have us the reason that our bank doesn’t take deposits over 10k but that was a lie since they did before, and after. I think someone hit a wrong key!

Yeah, the “fourth” deposit limit is only for the current tax year. So, if you are getting one check per year, it should not apply to you.

We opened the bank account in 2017 so this is just the second time we requested a direct deposit to this account. It was used last year and we received the direct deposit just find

The amount is not correct. Mine is over 18k, and it is a DD. The only applicable reason that you would change to a paper check is if it is the fourth or more check processed to the same account. I.E., you have multiple people using the same checking account for their taxes.

Thanks. That’s the only thing I could think of but I read reasons online about why it would change and didn’t see that mentioned anywhere. I plan on calling Monday to see. We did adopt 3 children last year so it was a pretty high refund as we got back everything we paid in plus 4200 for the child tax credit.

Ive seen other people on here say if your refund is over a certain amount, the IRS will change it to paper check to help reduce fraud.
