      What do you think ? Will anyone get a did today or do you think that the IRS will stick with the “check back after Feb 15…..” ?

      I’m not going to hold my breath, but I would LOVE a ddd !

          @just

          No, only those associated with the PATH Act are being held. You just may have not updated yet. Some people progress faster than others for some reason… happens every year.

          @kellyo

          This is the IRS we are talking about, rational thought usually doesn’t apply, but I think they got this one on lock.

              @Tom Thanks for your input. I completely agree that they want to be consistent or people would lose their minds. I was just hoping blindly that my rational thoughts were incorrect lol :)

                Do you think filers without these credits are also being held? I didn’t file any of the credits and I’m single, but I’m still in the same boat.

                  The PATH Act message will remain on WMR until Feb. 15th. I spoke to not 1, but 2 IRS reps today in an attempt to get a straight answer.

                  As far as the refunds… They will begin processing no earlier than Feb. 13th and will be released no earlier than Feb. 15th.

                  There are absolutely no exceptions according to the reps, as the IRS is well aware we all have the internet and if people catch wind someone got it early, their phones will melt from people calling non-stop about why they didn’t get theirs… yes I paraphrased and yes that is really what I was told, just not in those exact words, obviously.

                    @missy – mine always updates after as well. I was just thinking since they already have the refunds processed, they might possibly show with a ddd before the actual deposit. If the first bunch get direct deposited on the 13th/15th, there is a chance that they could send ddd. I know that it says it will not update until the 15th, but one thing that I have come to expect from the IRS is to expect the unexpected !

                      This action is driven by the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes Act of 2015 (PATH Act) that was enacted Dec. 18, 2015, and made several changes to the tax law to benefit taxpayers and their families. Section 201 of this new law mandates that no credit or refund for an overpayment for a taxable year shall be made to a taxpayer before Feb. 15 if the taxpayer claimed the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit on the return

                      FROM the IRS WEBSITE..

                      IT STATES THEY ARE UNABLE TO RELEASE FUNDS BEFORE FEB 15TH.

                      I’m thinking those with with the credits May get a ddd in the upcoming days =)

                          No ddd’s until after Feb 15th… It states it right in the message.
