@Sabrina when you use sbtpg and enter the dollar amount you can not use any decimals or dollar signs only enter the whole dollar amount of your refund or it will kick it back saying not found, the same thing happened to me is how i know. I received a ddd on wmr of 2/23, i checked tpg’s page and they recieved my refund and deducted their fees today saying it was sent to my bank. Does anyone know how long it will take for my bank to start showing pending deposit or will it automatically transfer the same day?

@sabrinaN
sbtpg will only have your info if you requested the fees be taken out of your return.
If you had the fees taken out than you can enter the same info as you do on the WMR tool and they will tell you if they have received it.

Alright update:
The SBTPG.COM website is now working and it is not showing that they’ve received the money yet. For reference, my DDD is 2/23.
-
February 19, 2017 at 6:28 pm #4179513Ellie
I guess it all depends on when the treasury sends it.
They can’t make available something they don’t have yet.
I doubt and hope I’m wrong that the 33rd DDD has not been sent yet.

I filed 1/30, affected by PATH. I got my DDD for 2/23, filed through turbo tax and opted to have my fees taxed out of my refund. I have been filing my own taxes for 15 or more years and I have never gotten my money before my DDD, regardless if fees were taken out or not.

TC36: We have always used prepaid debit cards where only one of us was listed on the account, sometimes me, sometimes my husband. It has never made a difference that one of us were not on the prepaid account. Hope that helps!
-
February 19, 2017 at 10:08 am #4179222TC36
I am getting my refund loaded to a prepaid debit card. I filed with TT with fees deducted. I am a little concerned because although the return has me listed as primary and the card is in my name, my husband’s name is listed as well and he is not on my card account. I called the card company this morning and tried to add him and it was not allowed (No idea why, dumbest company policy ever). Anyway, I am concerned that the refund will be rejected because of the extra name. The man at the card company wasn’t sure if it would be or not. Anyone have a similar experience?

Filed and accepted 2/4, updated with DDD 2/23 on 2/18. Filed with H&R Block, fees paid for during filing, using a prepaid debit card through my school (Wex Bank). They post deposits very quickly once they receive them just like with my old netspend card. No funds yet, but I do not expect to receive them prior to 2/23, honestly.

February 19, 2017 at 9:50 am #4179211
Last year I had a DDD of Wednesday, no fees, and I received it on my prepaid card Sunday night. Of course there was no holiday the next day but they do send funds on weekends. I believe sbtpg has the funds especially for the 2/22 people. I’m glad next year I will have a simple return and I will file for free.

Not trying to start anything here,but the Federal reserve shouldnt technically need to be physically open.It SHOULD be all automated via the internet.If some financial institutions do it,certainly the Feds can too.It just doesnt make much sense that the doors have to be physically open for business.Money changes hands all the time guys without a physical business being open.If that were the case,that would greatly hinder how companies operate.Maybe I’m way off base,I dunno…just posing the question and my take on it.Just makes sense to me that the reserve should be online and up and running constantly.

Not trying to dash anyone’s hopes but in my last three years of filing I’ve yet to see my deposit before the day shown on wmr. I was a pather, ddd of 2/22, filed Jan 23rd, accepted the 23rd as well. Everyone be patient. We’ve waited this long, what’s a couple more days. Just hobby the date shown on wmr.

Received my refund last year on my Serve card on 2/7/2016 at 10:51pm.
That is a Sunday night, but also wasn’t before President’s Day, I’m not trying to encourage or discourage anyone just stating a fact.

@seeheiggt
This can’t be compared to mobile deposit capture which BTW some banks charge for for immediate release of funds.
Your bank which ever it is behind the scenes evaluates the check and if the payer is a good risk and the check has none of the red flag factors present they basically front you the funds. It doesn’t mean the deposit can’t be rescinded if the check returns unpaid by the other bank.
ACH deposits specifies a date… Much like the date written on a check.
NACHA is in phase one of rolling out a system that can be used to send ACH and make available the same day.
Most will see their funds available on the DDD if the use a fed regulated financial institution.
Could something be released and be available ahead of the specified date? Sure. I guess. Bank systems have glitches… Things happen.
I’m not going to bank on a glitch though…I can guarantee I would be disappointed.
IMA be patient some more.
No choice.

well a few yrs back when I filed with freetaxUSA and using my netspend card. when the Wednesday of my wmr updated with a Friday direct deposit date. I would RECEIVE MY MONEY NOT ON FRIDAY BUT ON WEDNESDAY AT AROUND 1:30AM. tho now using turbo tax it’s completely different I recieve on the scheduled day. and now adding this path thing I assumeD it wouldnt be any sooner then the 23rd. I hope that made sense

For those of us that have a 2/23 DDD the only way we will see our refunds hit before Tuesday is if the funds were released from the treasury dept last night or today and show up tonight. Or at least that’s what I’m hoping. If not I’m sure I will survive but it sucks.
@Sam9
I’m assuming you will be in the batch of returns showing a 2/24 DD when WMR updates again. Good luck

Filed 02/07 11:58PM, Accepted 02/08 12:05 AM (EST) via TT, I haven’t received a DDD but the standard message of it being processed blah blah..
I happened to speak to the IRS customer centre this morning, after a lot of pestering the lady mentioned she will check and after which she told me my processing cycle was the 10th!!!!!
She was patient, but did not hint at any DDD or anything how much ever I asked…Am not sure if the 10th she mentioned is a metric to figure out when I can expect a refund..She said it all looks fine we have your employers W2 wages, etc and like last year it should be fine…no letters, etc
Would really appreciate if anyone with some kind of experience in dealing with this kind of a situation like this could give some inputs..
I will be traveling on 24th out of the country for a week…would be nice if by any chance I could get it by that time, it would help me a lot!
Thanks

@hiloshark
I have American Exp. Bluebird card and they do DD everyday – So some banks do process weekends and holidays.
The actual problem is the Federal Reserve is closed Monday which is where the funds transfer from, so chances of 2/23 DD coming before Tuesday is slim 😕 -
February 18, 2017 at 10:44 pm #4178998
I’ve gotten my direct deposits on a Saturday and Holidays… just got one not long ago, Thanksgiving Day actually. The bank technically doesn’t need to be open, plus I have Serve, so it really doesn’t matter, it’s fully automated.

I am informed. every eyar some people come to this site and freak out. there are years where there mitigating circumstances that cause you to get a day early your irs refund. but 98 pct of the time, you will nvr see that shit early. sorry for busting bubbles. its just the truth. annoymous just has social -problems and really people like you shouldnt be on the internet. it was much easier and quieter of a place before hilljacks figured out how to use this shit.

Call centers will be open Monday.. Does that mean deposits could happen?
-
February 18, 2017 at 12:40 pm #4178440Seethelight
Correction: people WILL get their deposits whenever they are released. Some earlier than others. The banking systems and the liking have evolved to new levels of immediate postings just as we have evolved into a society of “now” I can take a picture of a check with my phone and have it post to immediate availability to my account. It works like check systems at the store that pull the funds immediately from your account when writing a check.
While NONE of us know exactly how and when things will happen as far as our taxes, none of us know when our fuss were actually released. WMR is just an estimate and it often times does not match up with the flow of the many many many different banking options people have to chose from.
So we need to be aware of those facts and open to the fact that anything is possible these days -
February 18, 2017 at 12:26 pm #4178406jasmine
NO ONE WILL GET THEY MONEY EARLY SO DONT HOLD YOUR BREATH IF YOUR DDD IS THE 23 IT WILL COME THE 22

This forum has become so negative over the yrs. This is the reason prepaid cards are so popular now. People need to think before posting BS

@hiloshark
Sorry that you have never gotten the pleasure of getting your deposit early. I’m sure that’s disheartening. However, I too have filed with TT and had fees taken out by sbtpg for many years. I also worked for a bank for many many years. I have always gotten my direct deposit from federal tax earlier than expected. In recent years I’ve switched to prepaid card deposit. If you know how they worked you would know that they post immediately. No holds of of any kind. They aren’t held to all of the same rules and regulations as federal banking systems. When they get a deposit it is made available to the customers account immediately. I now work in a payroll dept. we post direct deposits on Thursday at 9am. My dd is available that same day as soon as our bank releases funds, isuallybaeound noon. All of my coworkers with dd going to regular acts do not see their deposit until Friday.
Please be informed instead of infiltrating threads with your opinions. -

Same here but I called irs yesterday and the rep told me the same info but also that my husband has an offset. I called offset hotline and he owes Wisconsin dept of revenue. He said he remembered it was like $200 or something like that. I hope thats all it is. So I will still be all stressed out until I get it.

February 18, 2017 at 8:51 am #4178036Freaking finally
Did anyone start seeing their money that had a DDD of 2/22 that had the fees taken out and filed with Turbo Tax? I haven’t seen any recent threads or comments about those people still waiting.
I’ve looked at the Facebook page and all I see are people talking about 2/23 DDD now.
I have a DDD and it gives me a little hope of they have gotten theirs now.
