DDD 2/6/19 Early deposits? Questions? Anyone else

I have a DDD of 2/6/19. Does that mean it won’t hit my bank until then or can it come earlier than that? I bank with a credit union and get my payroll the day before everyone else gets direct deposits? Anyone already get their deposits? What time of the day do they usually send it ?

If WMR updated to show that, I would imagine they got to it before the return was sent. The treasury, from what understands, intercepts the return from the IRS after they process it.

I agree with Casey, I believe it’s simply a late-in-day funding and release by TPG (and IRS) that caused the delay. Happened to my wife’s payroll one month; every teacher in the district panicked because they didn’t receive direct deposit overnight, and they realized a glitch in the system sent it too late in the day. They pushed it through and we received the deposit around 1pm. I’m hoping for about the same results with the refund.

SBTPG status says the refund was sent on 2/5/19, I checked my bank this morning because all direct deposits I have show up at 4am. No sign from SBTPG yet, I’ll have to wait until tomorrow or possibly it will show up later today.

I’m hoping so.

Oh and I have been using TurboTax Deluxe since 2012 and never had this issue. I started using the pay using your federal refund since 2015 if I remember correctly and my refund was always in my bank account first thing in the morning.

I’ve seen a lot of posts between here and the FB page knocking people for worrying. I see it like this scenario. Your payroll deposit is scheduled for every Friday, but for the past handful of years, it always comes on Thursday. Thursday comes and you have no deposit. You worry because this is out of the norm, but surely it’ll be there Friday morning. Friday morning comes and still no deposit. Anybody would be concerned, whether they were waiting on that money to fix a broken furnace or just adding it to their savings.

@rhelg80 I absolutely agree. I’ve used TT and SBBT for processing for years. We should be able to at least expect the same results year after year, if not better. But this year is something else entirely. Now, I don’t know if it’s possible that the IRS delayed sending and that caused the initial hiccup, but SBBT supposedly sent my refund to my bank over 14 hours ago and still nothing. I understand that some banks only process at certain times of day, but I know my bank and that’s not the case with them. My refund usually hits my bank within an hour or so of SBBT sending, no matter the time of day. They do not hold deposits.

To echo a lot of other people in this thread: This has never happened to me before. The only reason I even used SBTPG was because TurboTax was ludicrously priced this year. I likely will not be using either in the future.

Even if it’s just one day late, process and timing should improve for the customer year after year, not get worse.

Hey everyone! I have a DDD of 2/6 also.

I see a lot of people are checking for their refunds before their bank even opens.

If the ACH file from SBTPG was sent late in the day it’s likely that your bank won’t pull the file from the ACH network until sometime today after they open.

The ACH network operates on Eastern time and the cutoff is around 4 p.m.

I don’t know about everyone else, but it was well after 4 p.m. Eastern time when SBTPG updated that my refund had been received and submitted to my bank.

ACH transactions don’t happen in real time, and transactions that are submitted after the cutoff time wouldn’t show up on your account overnight. The ACH is actually a network where one bank sends out a file and the file is sorted by the network and then pulled by your bank.

So it’s very possible you’ll still see money today, but depending on your bank, it may take a while to update to your account.

Still no movement on WMR though last year there was none either until 2 days after I already had it. Last year it arrived at 1:34PM on 02/05/2018. I banked with Bluebird by AMEX back then but switched to Chime for the chip. That’s the only difference this year. I can order both transcripts and did so yesterday with success but I have to wait til they arrive to see if that have that 835 code or whatever it is that means refund sent.

From what I understand, the idea behind it is that as soon as SBBT gets notified the deposit is coming on their end, they in turn release it to your bank. It’s at least a day ahead so that the deposit actually hits your bank by your DDD. Some banks won’t release the same day, so if they wait until tomorrow, some won’t hit until the 7th. This has always rang true. Not sure what’s up this year, but it is getting awfully late in the day.

Every time SBTPG would process mine it would on time. This year I am starting to wonder a bit. Still nothing in there and its getting late in the day for getting those ACHs out. I hope things are moving and they just haven’t updated the website. Someone should get ahold of them and get a true status

Did you guys get an update from WMR to “sent”? I can’t remember if mine changed last year before SBBT got it. I’m thinking it didn’t change to “sent” until the actual DDD.

I always use TurboTax and have fees taken out. Typically, my refund hits SBBT at least a day early and sends it to my bank. My bank doesn’t hold it once it’s received, so I have it that day. Sometimes that last part takes an hour or two, but it seems like usually I’ve seen movement in SBBT by now.

I’ve seen a couple say they have them or are showing them pending between here and Facebook. Not a lot and def not as many as I feel like I normally see so it’s a bit weird. I miss the days of having HRB emerald advances lol. I know it was a couple hundred dollars but the process being over on the spot was always worth it to me lol

Does anyone know when the IRS typically releases the funds? And I thought I read TPG gets deposits throughout the day. I can’t remember but I feel like SBTPG gets the deposit the day before and my bank updates the next day. I could be wrong though. I just stress every year. Regardless c

I have not heard about anyone with a DDD 2/6 getting funds sent yet. On numerous different banks and prepaid cards so I just don’t think the IRS released any of the funds yet maybe?

I can’t believe how long SBBT is taking this year. I know years prior it was sent and released from SBBT by noon est. I tried to find people with 1/30 (last Wednesday) DD that went through SBBT to see when it showed for them this year but found nothing. SBBT needs to move a little faster. Haha

I saw where 2/4 DDD folks got theirs on 2/1. Since I don’t think weekends count, I was figuring it would be the standard one day early.

I filed through Turbo Tax too; WMR says will be sent to bank by 2/6 and to call if not received by 2/11. I still don’t see that TPG has received anything either.
Please keep me posted if you start to receive your refunds tomorrow- I have owed state taxes that may be offset by my refund (not really sure, the state wasn’t able to tell me if they were going to take it or not, but have not received any sort of notice in mail from them regarding this or that they were going to offset) so it is making me nervous to watch and wait! I should still have refund money left even if they take their portion- does anyone know if this will delay getting the remainder of my refund? Some websites I’ve checked say yes, some say no, so i don’t know!

@Thomas yeah that’s kind of what I figured, but I usually get it a day early. And I have heard a lot of people saying they got their Federal even 2-3 days earlier. My bank does it’s final update at 4:30PM so I guess I will see if it gets deposited then, otherwise I’m sure it will be there when I wake up tomorrow.
