Does anyone really have a clue as to WHY these delays with our tax returns are even happening??

I filed on 1/27 and was accepted that very same day in the morning. I filed single, no kids, no any of the other stuff that apparently puts your taxes on hold for a couple of weeks. Just a SIMPLE, easy-as-pie return…No fuss…No mess.

Yet, here I am 21 days later with nada deposited!!

I used FreeTax (filed myself), which I have been using many years now and have Chime as my source card for the deposit. NEVER, in ALL of the years that I have filed, have I had to wait this DAAAAAMN loooooooooong!! 🙄😒

Yeah, some of us out here who did not “qualify” for the PATH are getting screwed over in this whole thing.

Once upon a time we all had to file paper returns… using snail mail😱 and wait months for an actual paper check to arrive in the mail!!
oh the horror…

I filed a SIMPLE return…The easiest of all returns possible…Single…No Kids…No extra filler nonsense. Got no IRS codes…No IRS acronyms…No IRS messages that required some tax expert to decipher…None of that. 😒

This extensive wait is POINTLESS!! 🙄

@Dafuq. At this juncture, it really is anyone’s guess. It’s a real cluster.. I do feel for all those suffering and are in serious need. I do hope their refunds are released asap!
