You won’t have a code of 846 until it has been issued. Usually after the money is sent. Your processing date and the date you receive your money are not the same days. You may be done processing the 13th but not scheduled to receive a dd until the 20th.That is just an example of days.
In previous years we could use the cycle date to determine the dd date. But that was before path act and I believe they change the cycle every year. Now the cycle date of 20170402 in previous years would have been Monday Feb. 13th. 20170405 would have been Thursday Feb. 16th.

Unless you have a code 846 for Refund Issued with a processing date, no you cannot assume your cycle processing date is reflective of when the money will come.

My transcript has a cycle date of 20170405,but my process date is 2/13/2017. How do I determine which date would most likely be my DDD?
-
February 7, 2017 at 4:13 am #4160386
Well @carrie what about everyone with 20170402, from my experience the cycle week goes by the weeks IRS have been processing. 04, the 4th week of processing 02 for monday the 13th
-
February 7, 2017 at 2:38 am #4160373
Okay, I have an amendment. The first two weeks of the year are “dead cycles” This means to expect your refund in the week you see in your cycle code. So if you see: 20170505, your refund is estimated to arrive the week beginning with 2/13, which is the fifth week of the cycle (that’s what the “05” represents). Sorry about that.
-
February 7, 2017 at 2:29 am #4160369
Updated Cycle Code Note:
If You Are a Weekly the Last Two Digits of the Cycle Code Falls Like This:
05 is Wednesday.
If You Are a Daily the Last Two Digits of the Cycle Code Falls Like This:
01 = Friday02 = Monday
03 = Tuesday
04 = Wednesday
05 = Thursday
Basically, anything outside of Wednesday is daily. However, you will know if you are a weekly if you ONLY update Fridays into Saturdays. I.E., you get updated transcripts on Friday, DDD on Saturday and DD Wednesday (unless you have an awesome card/bank).
Don’t ask me why. The IRS is nutsy-boo-boo. If you can make heads or tails of this, I have a medal all ready for you. *sighs*

February 7, 2017 at 1:44 am #4160358
The last two digits of the cycle code represent the day of the week your refund should be expected. If you are a weekly, the cycle codes fall like this: 01 is Thursday, 02 is Friday, 03 is Monday, 04 is Tuesday and 05 is Wednesday. (If your date falls on a Wednesday, you are a “weekly” — see the post entitled “Weeklies” for more information on that subject). This is slightly off from what the IRS says in their manual because the IRS manual is clear as mud. (Note:This date is the equivalent of the Cycle Date in IDRS and reflects the date the transaction is posted by IMF. See Exhibit 3.30.123-2, Enterprise Computing Center – MTB Posting Cycle Calendar.
Example:
IMF daily transactions balanced and released by the campus on Monday, August 7, 2017 will have a posting cycle of 20173203.)The first two digits after the year represent the week your return was processed. For example, the 5th week of tax season (05) would be the 6th week of the year, because the first week of the year is considered a “dead cycle” for tax purposes.
So if someone has a cycle date of 20170503, it would mean your return was processed the week beginning with February 6, and you should have a DD the following week, on a Monday. If your bank releases funds early, it could come early. If they release on-time, it would be on a Monday, if they run late, it could be a few days after the estimated release date.
If you are affected by PATH Act, and you see a processing date of 02/13/17, you are most likely set to get your refunds in the first PATH Act release batch, which begins in the week starting with 02/13/17.
The thing to keep in mind is that normally the IRS releases funds a couple of days before the date they tell you to expect the funds in your account, due to the fact that most financial institutions hold deposits for an average of two days before making the funds available in your account. Some people use various cards and banks that release funds immediately. It is highly likely that those who use those types of services will see the funds before the first projected date of 2/15, if they are in the first batch of PATH Act refunds to be released.

February 6, 2017 at 10:24 pm #4160254
Can someone please explain how exactly you find a cycle date?
-
February 6, 2017 at 4:54 pm #4160017Not So Patient
Im still confused here. Last year my cycle date was 20160505 and I received my refund via DD on 2/10. This year my cycle date is 20170405. Is the cycle number different every year? Or what constitutes as the first cycle?
-
February 6, 2017 at 1:41 pm #4159850
So my cycle code is 20170405 and date is 2/13/2017 does that mean it will process on that thursday? If following how it has worked in the past?
-
February 5, 2017 at 11:47 am #4159218

-
February 5, 2017 at 10:45 am #4159195awakener

-

.30.123.4.9 (01-01-2017)
IMF Daily Processing
IMF processing will be daily except on weekends. Some transactions post to IMF on a daily basis as opposed to during the weekly cycle.IMF Cycle Date is a daily cycle designated by an eight digit number indicating the year, the two digit cycle number and the two digit number indicating the day of the week (YYYYWWDD). The following values for DD are defined:
01 = Friday
02 = Monday
03 = Tuesday
04 = Wednesday
05 = Thursday
Note:
This date is the equivalent of the Cycle Date in IDRS and reflects the date the transaction is posted by IMF. See Exhibit 3.30.123-2, Enterprise Computing Center – MTB Posting Cycle Calendar.Example:
IMF daily transactions balanced and released by the campus on Monday, August 7, 2017 will have a posting cycle of 20173203.MF Refund Payment Date -The IMF Refund Payment Date will be computed by IMF for both Direct Deposit and Paper Check refunds and will be listed on the refund transaction TC 846 in fields:
“RFND-PAY-DATE” on IMFOL, format MMDDYYYY
“RFND-PYMT-DT” on TXMOD, format YYYYMMDD
IMF computes this field as the posted cycle date PLUS four business days for Direct Deposit refunds; posted cycle date PLUS six business days for Paper Check refunds.

see this is why the whole transcript thing is a joke…look at all this guessing going on and none of you know what is up or what is down…Jesus not being anything but informative but here you got one person saying it means under further review and scaring people and others saying April 5th lord just cool it make sure there are not errors or instructions to call on wmr or letters from the irs in the mail box.
-
February 5, 2017 at 9:00 am #4159153Catherine
I ordered my transcripts through the MAIL my return transcript has a cycle code of 20170405 but I do not see a processing date??? I see a received date for April 15th…. Can anyone clarify for me please and thank you. Do the mailed ones look diff from the online ones?
-
February 5, 2017 at 2:17 am #4159110
It doesn’t mean further review.
-
February 5, 2017 at 12:24 am #4159090Renae
If there’s no processing date then there is probably a further review of return.
-
February 4, 2017 at 5:33 pm #4158922Anonymous
Im thinking ill get mine ON the 15th since my processing date is 2-13-17. Hopefully anyways.
-
February 4, 2017 at 5:31 pm #4158920
@Southerngirl88 I have the same thing. All I can say is wait until the 15th. I doubt any of us would know before that what is going on. I see some people saying they been approved and have a ddd before the Feb 15. It’s BS. If they filed EITC or ACTC they will be waiting just like us.
-
February 4, 2017 at 5:16 pm #4158915Southerngirl88
No processing date 20170405 cycle date April 15 2017 date received

-
February 4, 2017 at 12:19 pm #4158773Anonymous
Maybe they double check certain tax situations but this is all automated unless the system catches something thats wrong
-
February 4, 2017 at 12:18 pm #4158771Jon
@NeedInfo. The IRS can’t recheck something that isn’t there yet. Employers have until the 15th of Feb. to have their filings submitted. IRS can’t check prior to that.

That guy is just plane wrong im sorry
-
February 4, 2017 at 12:07 pm #4158761NonaSC
Ok lol as long as I’m still in the waiting room and not still standing in line again to be process again thanks
-
February 4, 2017 at 12:05 pm #4158757Anonymous
Doubt it nona, they are already done with them. Why would they rerun them again and give more dates? From what i see we are basically in a waiting room lol
-
February 4, 2017 at 11:59 am #4158749NonaSC
So they will reprocess my taxes again before the 15 and then I will get another cycle date and code 846 to release the refund?
-
February 4, 2017 at 11:57 am #4158747NeedInfo
@Michael your right …fear porn working here…this is why im posting so much because its my opinion there is either false hope to often at times or this kinda fear porn.
This guy doesn’t know, give me a break use common sense.
-
February 4, 2017 at 11:53 am #4158743Anonymous
I thought that it was already completed and the 15th is when they will begin issuing them or thats when youll have it. I havent found anything on them actually rechecking anything.
-
February 4, 2017 at 11:38 am #4158725NeedInfo
@Jon I agree there systems are so old we would be afraid at the very thought of it that said i dont know about the rechecking aspect because that part is supposed to have happened already that’s what the 15th is for the check and verify and catch fraud that’s it.
There only doing this checking because of an act of congress, lol
Also they send funds though wire its not hard at all just a bunch of 1′ & 0’s and it involves no one because it is a machine that does all that…with the exception of there machines being POS then yeah I agree.
I also agree not everyone will get it on the same day
-
February 4, 2017 at 11:30 am #4158716Jon
That’s just the date limitation for that code cycle. No refund will be issued until you see a Code 846 on your transcript.
By law they have to hold EIC and ACTC until at least February 15th and then, they aren’t going to simply just mass refund. Their systems to have to rerun your return and match it against whats been submitted. If everything matches you’ll get the 846 and a new cycle code and date.
-
February 4, 2017 at 11:29 am #4158714NeedInfo
I hear you with building a pc…right there with you searching out next rig right now but i dont know much about the codes other than i heard 846 thing but again who knows if that is still correct…i say check back after or on the 15th easier to de stress till then
-
February 4, 2017 at 11:24 am #4158707Anonymous
All i see for codes are 150, 806, 766 and 768. When i look them up they all look ok so im guessing my return has no issues. This wait sucks though i have another PC to build lol
-
February 4, 2017 at 11:14 am #4158694NonaSC

Ty for ur response -
February 4, 2017 at 11:03 am #4158676Anonymous
Im going to assume as long as we see both transcripts then all is good and we just have to sit here and wait for the money to hit.
-
February 4, 2017 at 11:02 am #4158673Anonymous
@Nona what code would you be talking about and where are these codes?
-
February 4, 2017 at 11:01 am #4158671Renae
Yeah I’m thinking those with 2/13 d’s will be first out and those with 2/20 get caught in the holiday with the banks.
-
February 4, 2017 at 10:57 am #4158667NeedInfo
@NonaSC No way in holly hell are you getting on the 20th its a federal holiday, however its possible to get it before on the Friday or after the 20th
-
February 4, 2017 at 10:54 am #4158665NeedInfo
The IRS is in the business of taking more not giving it away lol and your 100% right on that, though i dont want to poo poo other people who say they got a DDD because anything is possible.
-
February 4, 2017 at 10:52 am #4158663NonaSC
I filed 01/30 accepted 01/31. Had one bar on wmr until today 02/04 got the PATH message. So I went to order my transcript online and was able to order both account and return today. My cycle date says 20170505 and next to it it has the date 02/20/2017. I was thinking that would be the day I receive my refund. No code 846. I have hoh, eic, no aeic . So I’m hoping to get mine on 02/20/17.
-
February 4, 2017 at 10:49 am #4158660Anonymous
Cool, thanks for your help. I keep seeing people talking like they are getting DD’s already with EITC etc and i really doubt that its true. I dont think the IRS would break the law to give us money faster lol
-
February 4, 2017 at 10:43 am #4158651NeedInfo
I agree if anyone would get it in the first few days it would be you (early filers) also it is very possible they would send it out the 13th then on the 15th you get it…it makes sense to me.
On the flip side I am just saying this as not to build false hope but 1. were talking about the government here, 2. were talking about the irs here lol.
if it is sent on the 13th your bank should be able to tell you on the 14th around 9am (wire department)
-
February 4, 2017 at 10:35 am #4158640Anonymous
@needinfo thanks for the new response. I assumed not until after the 15th as its law but since i was accepted jan 12 i should be one of the first to get the DD. Figured the 13th was maybe when they would send it out and id get it the 15th (still within the law) From what i see the monday that is a holiday is Feb 20th so i should be ok.
-
February 4, 2017 at 10:30 am #4158638NeedInfo
I agree about carrying about the facts about when the refund will come and what not because its important but in my opinion it is also important to be more concerned with things like are there any errors being generated, are there instructions to call and are you receiving letters from the irs because if not then its a good thing.
I hope you do get your refund on the 15th but I just dont want to pump you with false hope either, that said your asking for people here to guess for you and i dont think that’s a safe spot to be in…keep in mind also Monday is a federal holiday and no banking transactions will occur Sat – Monday
