How are cycle codes assigned??? I saw some ppl had different cycle codes from one year to the next so how are they assigned to you?? Are they based on a filing status? Tax credits?!

The IRS expects PATH Act refunds to be received by 3/4. Check irs.gov/refunds for the most up to date info. Reply STOP to OptOut

          fairly new to this

Where do you get this code from? I’ve seen several talking about this but not sure where to find it or what they are calling “transcripts”?

I feel like filing earlier gets me later codes than people who filed more recently. I think it’s random, like whoever processes your return does it when xxxx code is current. That code gets filled and they fill in the new one.

I filed 1/26 accepted 1/29, I feel like earlier folks like me run more risk at being at the bottom of the barrel, where fresher filers get processed faster, closer to the top of the barrel so to speak, so their transcripts get updated sooner, which means earlier cycle code.

This is just a guess–no proof at all, just a pattern that seems apparent with a code in relation to date filed/accepted. I see a lot of people today who filed a week to 10 days ago with DD, and others who filed before 1/28 still waiting with a 20190601 or later.
