Cycle code

I used to know how to read cycle codes but unsure of myself now. I got a cycle of 20170503. I’m thinking that’ll be 02-16-2017. Anyone that can tell me if I’m right or wrong and why that would be awesome. Tia

Ok So,, Our taxes were due in on the 15th with path didnt arrive so I checked our transcript.. Apparently we had some SSI that was owed to us when our case closed to they added it to our return and finally today just gave us the 846 code refund issued. It says cycle 20170605 which was Feb 9th but has date of Feb 27th.. So since our cycle has passed and we have a 846 code of refund issued do we still have to wait till the 27th?? Or will it come with this fridays pay out? Since today was the first day it had the 846 code??

First 4 number is the year. Second two is the week. The week IRS starts processing is 01. So 05 is the week of February 20. The last 2 are campus days (processing days). 01 is Thursday.

so 20170503 translates to 02/27/2017.

04 is the starting the 23rd ….anyone filing before or the week of 23rd is 04. The week starts on Friday….01. @Bj if you have path your funds will be processing 2/13.

Anyone else who filed & accepted 1/27/17 with the PATH Act message & Tax topic 152 messages updated this past Saturday know their cycle code? I’m hoping we would have the same one & I can figure mine DD date out!! Thanks for any help!!

That part is gone! But everything else is there. I even called the automatic line and it says the same thing. Refund being processed a refund date will be provided when available. I absolutely will. I mean nothing has changed personally with me so I’m assuming it’s just a longer process.

@Kaitlin I’ve heard if your refund amount is still on the left, you are probably just moving along in the processing phase. You could see an update soon.

You might want to call the IRS and ask if you need to verify your ID but somehow I think you’re okay.

One more piece of info: the last two digits of the cycle code represent the day of the week your refund should be expected. 01 is Thursday, 02 is Friday, 03 is Monday, 04 is Tuesday and 05 is Wednesday.

The first two digits after the year represent the week your return was processed. For example, the 5th week of tax season (05) would be the 6th week of the year, because the first week of the year is considered a “dead cycle” for tax purposes.

Do you know what it means when your refund was accepted 1/29 but then the bars disappeared and now it says refund being processed a date will be available when ready or something like that. But all my info is still present on the left side. I called TurboTax and they said wverything was approved on their end and they see no issues with the IRS. HOWEver I’m getting mixed messages on here about Identifying my identity some people say it’s normal and it means I’ll have a ddd soon. I’m confused. Any help would be great.

The 05 means your return was processed the 5th week of tax time (not necessarily the 5th week of the year). The 03 means you are a daily and it also means for you to expect a DD on a Monday. It could occur earlier if you have a card/bank that releases funds immediately. As for the exact date, that’s hard to say. Hope this helps a little.

I’m with you, BJ. I got my transcripts in the mail today and have the same date. I am guessing (hoping) that it will be direct deposited next Wednesday with or without an update this Saturday. Fingers crossed !
