My child’s father and I alternate years that we claim our son on taxes. In 2020 I claimed him and received the advance child tax credit last year. He claimed him on his 2021 return this year. Does anyone know how this could affect my return? Will it be delayed? Or audited? I can’t seem to find a clear answer. TIA

You will have the advance child credit taken. You should of opted out of it.

I understand that. But will my refund be delayed? Or audited?

You probably don’t want to hear the likely answer, but someone’s going to say it at some point, may as well be me.
The ctc advance payments were in advance of your taxes this year.
Whoever claims your son this year gets that money in it’s entirety.
Since that’s your son’s father, you will likely have to pay it back entirely.
As far as the stimulus money, that was based off of the previous year’s return, so you shouldn’t have to worry about that.
