I just wanted to see if anyone else has been bitten by using Credit Karma. I used it and it seemed to work fine. Very easy to use and file. Heck it’s “free”! Then I get an email that my federal was rejected as my dependent and ssn didn’t match. I may of put one digit down wrong on the ssn. There is NO WAY to go in and access dependent information to update it.

Their online help is horrible and their customer assistance is relegated to a email. No phone number. It’s been 2 days now.

I’m wanting to use Tax Slayer now this has happened but I’m afraid that IRS will think it’s fraud or kick in something that will delay my file and put it in review.

      Any suggestions?

I used Credit Karma, and I have a dependent son, in college with a ssn and everything went through just fine. My return has been accepted and I am just waiting for it to be processed now.

Thank you Jean for the inforamation. I was afraid going through another online tax prep would cause an issue. Back to TaxAct. For some reason they are making me pay because I have a 1099-r this year. That’s why I went to Credit Karma. I never will do that again.

You can go ahead and efile with a software of your choosing. Because your return was rejected, the IRS will be expecting you to send in a corrected return. It will not flag in their system if you use a different software.

Turbo tax does a free file as far as I am aware. I would just submit it again. Or maybe even call the IRS to see what the best course of action is to prevent it being rejected or flagged.
