I saw the loan was approved yesterday, but my return was rejected for a wrong birthdate. I resubmitted so hopefully it goes through quickly. It’s seems like maybe they just had a lot of returns to get through.
-
January 30, 2018 at 11:59 pm #4201898Timothy S
Of course, now credit karma is telling me my return was rejected since I filed with tax slayer. Oh well. I already have my $500 on my serve card from my refundnow advance. Good luck CK filers.

Alx D or Winter- can one of you tell me if the loan for taxslayer is still available? I tried filing with taxslayer but never got to that point. Seriously considering..but at what point does it ask you because I never got that pop up to apply for the loan!!!??? Sometimes it varies state to state..Im in Virginia, am I eligible? Bills due and 3 little ones to feed!!! 😕
-
January 30, 2018 at 8:45 pm #4201810LCB
I tried putting my info into CK and found several critical software errors when I looked at the output it was generating:
– Form 8889 not generating at all for HSAs
– No way to enter your DL/state ID information for VA returns
– Virginia withholding schedule was duplicating W-2 entries 11 times over (!)I would avoid this product. It’s “free” in the sense that it seems “worthless.” I would use IRS fillable forms before this hot mess.

January 30, 2018 at 5:54 pm #4201686Winter
@Alx D
That’s what I figured. Well at least they’re kind of admitting there’s an issue now. Honestly, I would have given them another day and filed with someone else on the morning of the 1st if it hadn’t been resolved had they just dealt with this better. The way they are handling this is the real problem. Horrible customer service!!
-
January 30, 2018 at 5:29 pm #4201673Alx D
Well everyone after smoothing my way with an chat agent I finally got confirmation. I will only post the important part. Sorry I’m the bearer of bad news. Probably my last update of the day.
But that’s not what it was said before
When are you going to resolve the issues of people not getting accepted from credit karma
Do you have an estimated timeframe?
Me
there is information on our website about the early bird and how it works
not yet
I apologize
Sady
So it is not resolved yet?
Me
we are working on it
as soon as IRS accepts return you will receive an email confirmation
If it gets rejected you can login again and edit
Sady
So it can be a month from now ehenever you fix your issues
Me
no no not a month
Its a matter of hours or
a day perhaps
Sady
That’s not fair. You should put a warning on your site that says credit karma is having issues submitting to irs so people will know
Me
Many members their return has been accepted
not sure what the issue is -
January 30, 2018 at 5:05 pm #4201652Alx D
Yeah I just got in the chat twice tehy cannot explain it and twice they closed the window. So yeah it’s a trick to fool people.
-
January 30, 2018 at 5:02 pm #4201651K
My Credit Karma just updated to approved for Earlybird Advance but both Federal and State (NC) not accepted still.
-
January 30, 2018 at 4:57 pm #4201649Alx D
@K
same happened to me. That’s why I rather go with Turbo tax as well.
-
January 30, 2018 at 4:36 pm #4201641K
Well I was denied for the RefundNow with Tax Slayer haha
-
January 30, 2018 at 4:34 pm #4201640Alx D
@tia
I’m feeling like that as well.
-
January 30, 2018 at 4:32 pm #4201637Tia
I just checked credit karma my advance also is showing approved but still no acceptance. My state (Virginia) is now ready!! Not there before…. Feel like this may be a trick!
-
January 30, 2018 at 4:26 pm #4201630K
@Alx D
Oh thanks! I usually use Turbo Tax too but this year I really need money now and can’t wait until maybe Feb 27th. So I don’t know what to do, sigh.
-
January 30, 2018 at 4:23 pm #4201629Alx D
@K
The fees were around $60 but I didn’t do it because I rather do Turbo Tax which I used the last couple of years without a glitch other than ID verify and didn’t pay anything. So not risking it with another new company that is actually going to charge me.
-
January 30, 2018 at 4:10 pm #4201620K
@Alx D
Ahhh you were right, thank you. But I’m still hesitant, how much are all the fees for TaxSlayer? And seeing people are getting approved for CreditKarma’s loan thing I might wait.
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:59 pm #4201608Winter
@Alx D – this is so crazy!!
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:55 pm #4201604Alx D
@winter
If you have a bar on WRM that’s as legit as it gets. So TaxSlayer is right on the message they sent you.
I was thinking the same on your second point. But like I said at most they bought an extra day from me. Tomorrow I will file with Turbo Tax if I do not get anything.
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:48 pm #4201599Alx D
@tia
I cosign that! 😂
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:48 pm #4201598Winter
This whole thing is very strange. Maybe the acceptance on Tax Slayer site wasn’t real. I haven’t ever had a return accepted within 8 minutes before (a few hours, yes), or show up on WMR within an hour of it being submitted – or maybe Credit Karma is working with MetaBank to get things approved just to keep people happy as they clearly state it won’t be loaded on your card until it’s been accepted. Credit Karma has not updated to say my return was accepted.
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:46 pm #4201597Tia
This has been one crazy day!!
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:41 pm #4201596Timothy S
No sooner did my return get accepted with tax slayer did credit karma say I was approved for the $1000 advance. Funny I think, not sure if they are playing around or what. Too late now, tax slayer won even though I’m only getting $500 in advance.
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:41 pm #4201595Alx D
@winter
I’m curious as to how you got the approval of you got accepted elsewhere just today. Making me feel uneasy. But we’ll see.
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:35 pm #4201590Winter
Nothing there @tia – on their site it says:
If approved, the loan from MetaBank will be put on your Serve Card the day after the IRS accepts your tax return. -
January 30, 2018 at 3:33 pm #4201581Alx D
Mine has not arrived. Should be here anytime. I filed on the 25th. And I forgot my login and cant request new pass without the card number….aghhhhh…what a pain. lol.
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:29 pm #4201580Tia
Have either of you checked your serve card to see if the money is there?
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:29 pm #4201579Alx D
@winter
Well, maybe I’m getting excited for nothing….because you did say you filed with Tax Slayer and got accepted in 8mins and you now can see a bar on WRM when usually it updates the next day….So you are a very lucky guy my friend.
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:27 pm #4201578Alx D
@winter
We’ll see I guess….maybe they did that to fool us who knows…but if they did, all they did was bought themselves an extra day. If not, I will go with Turbo Tax which I’ve done last few years without trouble and without paying!.
Will not go with TaxSlayer. That’s for sure. They almost got me with the health insurance fee until I found a work around it. Not impress at all.
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:27 pm #4201577Winter
This is the message I am seeing:
Approved
Your $750 Earlybird Advance from MetaBank is approved!That money will be loaded onto your American Express Serve® Card and shipped to:
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:22 pm #4201572Alx D
@tia
Yes, I’m serious.
The acceptance bar does not show accepted but the first one the Metabank one now says it’s approved which should be a good sign because they say they will approve it once the tax return is approved by IRS. I would post a screenshot but it has my address and name now on there (wasnt there before) and dont have time to blur it out and upload…maybe in a few,.
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:21 pm #4201571Winter
Mine says the same thing. Curiouser and curiouser…
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:14 pm #4201566Tia
Alx D- your getting me excited!!! Are you sure? Please update us!!!!
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:13 pm #4201565Alx D
I would hate to think they are playing with people like this by putting that message there. Giving them an extra day.
-
January 30, 2018 at 3:11 pm #4201564Alx D
Ok here is an update…
Before I pulled the trigger from Credit Karma I decided to check again on their website after I was hesitant to do so because Tax Slayer basically denied the advance and at the end there was like $60-$70 in fees.
After checking it now says that Metabank approved my advance for $500. Which was not there at all before.
I have not received an acceptance email yet but I know Metabank will not approve it unless the return was received. Will update once I get the official acceptance from Credit Karma.
-
January 30, 2018 at 2:47 pm #4201543Winter
Also just got 1 bar on the WMR site. Happy to not be stressed about this anymore!! My refund was the exact same for both.
-
January 30, 2018 at 2:43 pm #4201541Alx D
@K
I’m doing mine with Tax Slayer and is exactly the same. I think the $700 less is the insurance penalty because it just happened to me. Make sure you get an exception. Very easy.
-
January 30, 2018 at 2:41 pm #4201540K
I was going to go the TaxSlayer route but they were going to give me $700 less :/
-
January 30, 2018 at 2:31 pm #4201534Tia
Thanks so much Winter! I will do it!
-
January 30, 2018 at 2:24 pm #4201525Winter
I had filed with Credit Karma but since they never sent my return in I was able to file and get accepted with Tax Slayer. Whenever Credit Karma decides to submit theirs it will reject it as I have already submitted a return. First come first serve lol.
-
January 30, 2018 at 2:21 pm #4201521Winter
@tia sorry meant you can have the advance sent to Serve or bank
-
January 30, 2018 at 2:20 pm #4201518Alx D
@winter
Did you file with TaxSlayer? Even after filing with credit karma or you never filed with credit karma? Cause I’m about to do the same.
-
January 30, 2018 at 2:18 pm #4201513Winter
@tia yes and yes. You can have it done to your bank also. You have to have w2 income though
-
January 30, 2018 at 2:14 pm #4201510Tia
Does taxslayer offer the advance also? Does it have to go on the American Express serve card?
-
January 30, 2018 at 2:08 pm #4201507Winter
Filed and accepted within 8 minutes on Tax Slayer. Something is definitely wrong at Credit Karma.
-
January 30, 2018 at 1:34 pm #4201465Winter
Giant facepalm!! And I just read an article saying they want to be in the top 3 for tax prep. Um, no.
-
January 30, 2018 at 1:22 pm #4201449Alx D
Thsi people is getting crazier by the moment…here is from chat:
hey, how are you doing/
IRS just opened up yesterday so anywhere from 1/29/2018 – 4/15/2018 your return will be accepted/rejected
you can find more information her irs.gov/newsroom/2018-tax-fili…So pretty much a bunch of BS….like anytime from here to 4/15…..all I can do is laugh…I’m gonna file elsewhere as @winter suggested.
-
January 30, 2018 at 1:19 pm #4201447Alx D
@winter
I’m going to wait out maybe today and if nothing happens I will go that route. Cause to me this credit karma people is garbage. Heck I may just do it right now. Thanks for the advise.
-
January 30, 2018 at 12:53 pm #4201431Winter
None of their stuff has gone through yet. You can file with another company and the first one to be received by the IRS will be accepted, they’ll just reject Credit Karma’s when they finally to get around to submitting it. Tax Slayer is offering the same advance as Credit Karma to an American Express Serve card or to your bank account. They charge $17, but worth it in my opinion if you can go that route. Unfortunately they don’t offer the advance for people with no W2 info (I file with a schedule C since I own my own business).
-
January 30, 2018 at 12:38 pm #4201426Tia
Guys I just sent this email…im so frustrated…ughhhh
Please do not provide me a generic response. Has Credit Karma had any acceptances since Irs open date? If there is a system issue, this is something customers need to be informed of. There are other tax agencies that are getting efile accepted within an hour of submitting. Please provide a response that explains this delay. Thanks.
-
January 30, 2018 at 10:05 am #4201300Alx D
@kelcf
Same here. I filed on the 25th still waiting. Ughhh. What a bunch of slackers. SMH.
-
January 30, 2018 at 10:02 am #4201299Winter
Did you apply for the advance?
-
January 30, 2018 at 10:00 am #4201296Alx D
I’m sure it’s a credit karma thing. Never ever happened before to me. But too late to complain I guess venting is my only relief right now.
-
January 30, 2018 at 9:52 am #4201283Alx D
@credit-karma
Starting to believe you work for them. Lol. 😂.
-
January 30, 2018 at 9:33 am #4201250
To Alx D
I got the email from credit karma yesterday around 1:00pm it said my tax return accepted by IRS and this morning it shows 1 bar at WMR. They just transmitted yesterday morning I guess. It take time for IRS to process. Hang in there. you be fine.
-
January 30, 2018 at 9:23 am #4201235Kelcf
I’m so frustrated. filed 1/24 and my return still hasn’t even been recieved !! And credit karma isn’t helping at all. They insist it’s been submitted when it clearly hasn’t. I don’t know what else to do. It’s been a week and still they have no record of my return smh
-
January 30, 2018 at 8:13 am #4201191Winter
@Alx D.
Nothing useful – just that they submitted them yesterday and it’s up to the IRS now lol. Never, ever again. Obviously a glitch happened somewhere, just be honest about it.
-
January 30, 2018 at 8:04 am #4201183Alx D
@winter
I hope it doesn’t have to do with it. But anything is possible. Let me know if they tell you something useful. Thanks for the update.
-
January 30, 2018 at 8:02 am #4201182Winter
Chatting with them now and of course just getting the run around. I got sucked in by the advance too @alxd. I wonder if that has something to do with this delay…
-
January 30, 2018 at 7:59 am #4201179Alx D
@winter
Same here. Never again. So mad I decided to use them this year. They got me with the damn advance thing I saw while checking my credit.
-
January 30, 2018 at 7:57 am #4201174Alx D
@tmw212
Yeah noticed that too with their site last night. It crashed. Just plain sad. Tells you how awful they are. Never again.
-
January 30, 2018 at 7:33 am #4201147tmw212
still haven’t heard anything either..so disappointing…and their website and app were down part of last night …really hope they give some kind of update or people start getting accepted today..concerning
-
January 30, 2018 at 7:24 am #4201140Winter
I haven’t. I will never use them again. I filed on the 18th. y state is saying they haven’t received it either.
-
January 30, 2018 at 7:18 am #4201136Alx D
Did anyone else get accepted? This credit karma really feeling like a damn bad decision. Still not there. Won’t bother contacting them cause I know they just will give the run around. I wonder if there is a way I can have them stopped my e-file so I can use turbo tax as I did last years. Never waiting this long, ever, for acceptance. Specially after seeing everyone left and right get accepted within hours. SMFH.
-
January 29, 2018 at 10:03 pm #4201015Alx D
Nice. I’m still waiting on mine though. Thanks for the update.
-
January 29, 2018 at 9:04 pm #4200984Jerry
Just got email saying IRS has accepted my return good luck everyone.
-
January 29, 2018 at 7:44 pm #4200941tmw212
I e filed through credit karma on the 21st and still have no acceptance from irs and credit karma chat just tells me they opened today the 29th and to contact irs..no help really..did the early bird advance and was approved for that but still no activity on the irs site, credit karma, or the serve card

-
January 29, 2018 at 3:45 pm #4200837Alx D
Thanks for the update. I also received a generic message from a support ticket I submitted. Regretting using them by the minute.
-
January 29, 2018 at 3:42 pm #4200835Jerry
I talked to live chat just now and all they would say as that the irs started accepting today and to log in and submit it today. I told them i filed on the 24th and it efiled and is waiti to here back from irs. then gave me basic message again and after i asked if it was held on their servers and would send today they gave me a message of it would update live information as soon as it came frome irs…. so in limbo for now i guess.

-
January 29, 2018 at 9:49 am #4200628Alx D
@credit-karma
Thanks for the info. You mentioned you got in touch with a credit karma rep. How did you manage to do so? cause all I can find is a way to open a ticket. Nothing else. Thanks.
-
January 29, 2018 at 9:35 am #4200616
Alx D.
As of 1/29 morning, I haven’t get any email from credit-karma nor IRS to inform as yet. Hopefully soon.. hang in there.
-
January 29, 2018 at 6:39 am #4200561Alx D
Did anyone get accepted filing with credit karma yet?
-
January 26, 2018 at 10:07 am #4199533Alx D
I’ve been using TT last 2 years and decided to go with them cause the advance thing and with TT I always had to ID verify…. Regretting that now though since usually my w2 is not here this early. Usually borderline 31st. But we will see.
-
January 26, 2018 at 10:04 am #4199530Alx D
@credit-karma nah I just jumped the gun. My bad. They resent me another email I thought said accepted just checked seems like it was a dream. Lol. I guess you were right. Crossing my fingers that you are wrong. Lol.
-
January 26, 2018 at 10:02 am #4199529
To Alx D
Please proved it that your tax return had been accepted. Do you work for credit karma by any chance? I posted on this website to inform future tax filers.
-
January 26, 2018 at 4:22 am #4199417Alx D
@credit-karma well mine just got accepted. So maybe they told you that so you won’t call or get some breathing room while they can.
-
January 26, 2018 at 12:23 am #4199404
I chat with credit karma rep. He said all return will put on their server and will be transmit on 1/29. I filed with them on 1/21 and wait and wait to get accepted from IRS but nothing happen because they did not transmit it. I will not use them again even though they are free.
-
January 25, 2018 at 11:57 pm #4199401Tia Va
I was prequalified but to my understanding final approval will be determined once the irs accepts the return..fingers crossed! If u applied look for the email after irs accepts, hopefully Monday!!! Patiently waiting…
-
January 25, 2018 at 11:21 pm #4199399Alx D
@credit-karma how do you know this? Mine says submitted.
-
January 25, 2018 at 10:27 pm #4199392
For those who filed their tax return with “Credit Karma” will wait until 1/29. Your tax return will not transmit until then.
-
January 25, 2018 at 9:43 pm #4199384Alx D.
Just filed a bit ago. Fingers crossed. Here we go again with the torture. lol. Anyone got approved for the metabank loan?

January 25, 2018 at 1:09 pm #4199290Tia Va
