Correlation Between Ordering Transcripts and ID Verify

For those getting ID Verified how often did you attempt to order your transcripts prior to finding out you need to verify? Part of me thinks that excessive attempts to order transcripts may have flagged accounts prompting some taxpayers to ID Verify.

If they check the dmv we are in huge trouble. We don’t have licenses or claim residency in the state we live in.

Or maybe looking at the address in the dmv system to make sure it matches could be a possibility.

@october GOODNESS! I hope not I did that for my husband and I (the one on turbo tax) in hopes we wouldn’t get pulled…I just want my money why’d they’d have to screw up sooooooo bad this year :(

I accidentally sent my account transcript to an address I haven’t lived at in three years. In fact, there isn’t even a house there anymore. I didn’t ID verify before submitting my tax return and wasn’t pulled for verification, and I know I requested probably two to three times a day the second week since I have to have my transcripts for school.

I wonder how many people who did ID verification before submitting their return, like how TT asks for your ID or license number before you submit, ended up having to ID verify. It seems like there might be a correlation between the two.

I had thought that same thing. If that is true than I’m in trouble. One day I checked like 15-20 times but now I check once in the morning and once in the evening.
