Code 971 anyone?

Bars disappeared 2/10 status changed to “still processing”
Bars returned 2/21 status changed back to “processing” with 1 bar
Account transcript says “no return filed” and code 971 notice issued.

Called Irs on 3 separate occasions. Have gotten 3 different answers. Only thing they had in common is they said I “should be receiving a letter” but could not tell me if one has been sent or in what regards. Nothing has come in mail. I’m going to look into a TA tomorrow if no update

  Calling the IRS does nothing bc they know nothing. Anyone of us on this website could start answering the phone for them right now and be just as, if not better, at their job.

  Yep. Updated to a 917 code. Just hung up with the irs. Said I probably won’t get my refund until the end of april
