I am supposed to be receiving a stimulus refund for my newborn daughter (born In 2021). the tax preparer said that IRS had to manually adjust the refund because they obviously had no knowledge of her existence until after we filed the taxes. However, on my transcript im still seeing the amount, short of the 1400 refund.

is the amount that is beside the code 846 and the DDD the correct amount? or can my actual refund be different? should I call the IRS?

The irs won’t adjust for that, you’ll have to amend as your tax preparer is an idiot.

1040x won’t be ready until mid to late March.

I’d also not use that preparer anymore and just use turbo tax, it would’ve added in the stimulus for the new dependant automatically for you.

I can’t get a hold of anyone. Does anyone know how I can speak to.a live person ? other than using the 652 code?

I will say this, the same thing happened to me last year and the IRS denied it. Found out our tax preparer had made a mistake for TWO years and now we are past the year mark waiting for an amendment worth 2k. The IRS doesn’t give much info over the phone and the wait isn’t worth them telling you they don’t know. If it was denied it’s best to wait on the letter In the mail and find out what you need to do next!

Your account could change if they needed to correct it at some point. Just call and let them kno what is going on
