I received my tax return back in March, then they passed the 10,200 forgiveness on the unemployment. How will I tell my new adjusted amount? Turbo tax still shows my original amount on it.

To answer ur question. So yes the remaining $ that your waiting on will be same way you got your refund and stimulus. Only way that won’t happen is the account is closed .so if you haven’t used it even if it’s only been couple weeks or month . There is always a chance the account could be closed because if they aren’t making money off of you using card then why keep it open. So let’s say it’s closed you will get a check

Just a couple questions…I dunno if these have been asked yet(apologies in advance if they have!)First…will the refunds be posted to the account on file with IRS where my original refund was sent(TT turbocard) and secondly,is there any realistic hope that unemployment refunds will be posted to accounts tomorrow since they said they would be starting sending payments “in may” and tomorrow is may 1st?

I got an email today from turbo tax telling me to amend my refund. I amended it and efiled it. Getting back 1700 more. Now the waiting game begins again.

                        May,

If you received over 10,200 in unemployment then only the difference is taxed. I think I received somewhere around 13000 in unemployment, but only like 2800 is taxable, which means bigger refund. I already received original refund, but taxes were paid on my full 13000. Hopefully we see some movement next week on what I would call a plus up payment for 10200 that I paid in on.

Hmmm looked at my transcript and mine was still as of date of March 24th. Maybe yours updating to may is a good thing. I’m going to check turbo tax on desktop and see if mine changed as well thank you

I received my refund on 4-14-2021 and had unemployment, but I got refund for original amount without the adjustment. I updated turbotax desktop and it automatically adjusted my refund about another 500 extra. I have noticed on my transcripts that my as of date changed to May 4th. I wonder if thateans that us when I will update with an update for the extra for unemployment?
