Can someone help me out? My fiancé owes child support due to loss of job during pandemic. I checked his transcripts today and he has an 846 DDD 2/24/22 with his full amount showing. Does this mean he will get the entire refund? He owes much more than he’s getting back but He’s currently working and paying biweekly now. We’ve never dealt with this before. Thanks in advance for any help

He has 3 bars on WMR:
Your tax refund has been approved for direct deposit.
However, it may be partially or completely reduced to pay a past due obligation, such as child support, another federal agency debt, or state income tax. If so, the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS), who issues IRS refunds, will send you a notice with the amount of the debt and contact information. The details of the debt are not provided to the IRS.

@oh,thereyouare my state said they only reported it to NYS. I filed a violation against him as he lives in Florida and they do not have state taxes. I wish if it got reported to NYS it automatically went to federal.

@AngelicPisces, I’m surprised your husband has a ddd. It could be however because he’s started making payments again. So his paychecks might be garnished instead. Did he recieve state portion?

@Amanda, who told you that? Perhaps it is state based, but if you owe child support, both can be intercepted by the Government. And the entire amount.

My ex husband owes quite a bit of child support to me and I was told they only were going after his state taxes not federal. Had it updated to WMR? It will tell you if it was reduced.
