My sister got her taxes back today. She filed and was accepted Feb 13. She had ACTC and EIC. Her WMR message never gave her a DDD. Yet the money was deposited onto her Serve card at 6:22pm.

lol, thanks D. It just pisses me off to be called a liar just because it didn’t happen to them. And TNmomof4, prepaid cards don’t have the same restrictions as traditional banks on when they can post deposits, that’s why so many people get their taxes deposited on prepaid cards, not because they can’t get a traditional bank account like some people suggested. A lot of people have anxiety surrounding taxes because they’ve had problems in the past so they don’t like to wait any longer than necessary for their refund. People who have never had to wait months for their return because of something that was not their own fault don’t get that so they like to stand in judgement.

Some card companies will front the money the moment they receive approval from the treasury/ IRS. It is possible that Serve fronted the money and her Bank will not. That is why she may not have money in her bank account yet, but she does on the Serve. For information purposes I completed my sons taxes and received a refund in 6 days into his bank account. I completed my mothers and she received hers in 7 days into her bank account. Mom has a dep, but no EIC.

No rapid refund- she used turbo tax. And she did get a ddd of 2/22 this morning on WMR. Most of her return goes into her checking account and she has not received that yet- just he portion that goes on her serve card. And here is a screenshot of her acceptance email. https://flic.kr/p/RC3ayh

That picture doesnt prove you werent lying, it only shows you got your refund. Show a pic of your irs file and acceptance. 3 days , I have never seen any that fast and with things the way they are this year I dont see anyone getting it fast like that. I dont care either way really , just glad to know refunds are finally coming in.

@21 mFiler I don’t know how to post a picture on here but I would be more than happy to show proof. And to all the nosy people wondering why she had part of her refund deposited on a prepaid card, Serve allows you to get cards for family members on your account. So she gives her older two children cards and that is how they get their allowance so they’re not carrying cash around. She has a portion of her refund deposited to that account so she can dole out allowances throughout the year. And there is only a small monthly maintenance fee.

@Duncan in my line of work, tax resolution when we see that it’s usually because they owe money to an entity. IRS State Court…etc You can get levied if they have open bank accounts. But not saying it’s why a lot of people use the prepaid cards. I see that they advertise you get your refund faster if you get it. But there is hidden fees with prepaid cards.
