If my address changed from what it was last year, in the event IRS send any letters out regarding this year’s tax return, would it go to the address used on this year’s return or to the old address used last year? Any help/info is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!!

I think it’s important to remember an actual human stuff’s those letters in envelopes and before that happens, an actual human populates the letter. Why is this important? Well, humans tend to make mistakes. Like choosing the wrong “current address”. Or maybe the human tax filers use the same tax company from last year and don’t update their address or the human preparer forgot to update it because tax season sucks. Point is, I have seen many many humans complain that the irs has sent letters to last years address. But the IRS has always sent letters to the address I used when filing my taxes.

They would contact you based on the address provided on the 2018 filling.

If they have questions regarding 2018s return, they will most likely contact you via information provided on 2018s return.
