I called today and spoke to someone about our return. She placed me on hold for about 5 minutes came back and said that she had to research it asked me a few questions like are named address. Came back and then ask for a refund amount and put me on hold again for like 5 minutes. Back again. She asked me if I had file the injured spouse form and I told her yes. She said give me 5 to 7 minutes again she wanted to research that. She came back 5 to 7 minutes later and said that they had clothes that on the 14th of March. Then she gave me the whole thing that it takes 11 weeks to process it if I filed it with my tax return which I did. So she said now I have to wait till the 11 weeks is up basically. What I’m wondering is that true. This is our second year of filing so will it take the whole 11 weeks this time to. She did say the IS form had been closed. She said they had to do additional research to see if we would owe anything. But if they’ve closed the is form then doesn’t that mean it’s closed.?

How were you able to get through to a live person? I called and none of the options apply, I tried checking the status of my return and then I enter the information requested and it of course tells me that my refund was applied to offset a balance which I already know. I never get the opportunity to speak to someone. I just want to know if they received my form 8379. I’m thinking I should go to the local office.
