      “Your Refund Results

We received your 2016 California Income Tax return on: Wednesday, January 25, 2017.

We are processing your return at this time. Please allow the following timeframes for processing to be completed:

2 months from the date you e-filed your return.
4 months from the date you mailed your return.

If we make adjustments to your return, we will notify you by mail.”

I have a pretty basic return (no odd credits & don’t itemize).
It seems like the time frames given in prior years were much shorter.

Idk why someone is so hostile but I would also say this is normal during processing. Last year as well as this year I received that message just two days or so before my refund was authorized.

Its been a week for me Cesar, so I dont know how normal that is. Just because its normal for you might not be for someone else. So dont answer like you know unless you work for the IRS in which you are not alllowed on these sites.

This is normal. I had the same general message when it was processing. 2 days later it updated to authorized.

The FTB made a lovely mess of things last year. I had my refund delayed until in to March. I called multiple times to find out if it had fallen off the face of the earth and learned that something happened with their system and it basically sent it in to space. It just sat. When I called they put it back in the system to be reviewed. It was a nightmare. I filed a the day before tax season opened last year.

Scott I have something similar to that. First time with a refund from CA. Just move to AZ in Dec.
