Now I am far from new to doing my own taxes BUT I have always filed right when I get my w2s usually at this time….Since I am a pather the IRS doesnt start on my taxes until 2/15 and I usually get them around 2/25-2/28. Until last year it was such a poopshow I got them back April almost may. I seen people with kids file their taxes after me and get theirs before me.

So my question is when is a good time for a pather to file.

Same for me but I filed on opening day. Same code as you self employed, EIC, CTC and lookback! I always used turbotax but used tax act this year. No fees. Used tax slayer last year and didn’t get refund till April or May like you.

So does this mean we will get it on 2/14?

I have seen some PATHers saying they already have DDD of 1/28. It seems since we were receiving the Advanced CTC payments from July-December which were just an advance on the credit for this tax season, there is no reason to audit or hold the returns for fraud since the actual credit was already approved. Fingers crossed the rest of us also start seeing DDDs sooner than after 2/15.

It seems different this year. I filed the 19th and accepted the next day. It also showed one bar on WMR. I went into my account today and looked at my transcript and all the transcripts are there. It has a cycle date of 20220404, but has a processing date of 02/14/2022. I am a pather and didnt really expect movement so soon, but apparently they are more efficient this year. I expect all that is left is for the pather date to pass for me to be refunded.
