I filed with the same tax company I always do on 3/8. when I checked the WMR a few days later it said accepted. after a week or so it started displaying the “processing” mumbo jumbo. I figured and also read somewhere that if there is no error code that it means your taxes are just filing. it has been 5 weeks since it has been accepted. When I call my tax preparer, she says nothing is wrong and that it is JUST processing and there WILL be a date soon. So I don’t know whats going on because I chose direct deposit so it should have been here quick….help pls

Filed and accepted 1/31. WMR has shown the tracker with the first section filled in. Now today the tracker is gone and it says
Your tax return is still being processed.
A refund date will be provided when available.
Please Note:
For refund information, please continue to check here, or use our free mobile app, IRS2Go. Updates to refund status are made no more than once a day.No tax topics. No nothing.
My boyfriend is upset thinking he ain’t gonna get the refund now because his employer has yet to submit anything to IRS for it to match to. He’s “self employed” (gets 1099 with amount in “non employee compensation” box) and claimed our 3 children. Did not file taxes last year. -

Had one bar on wmr saying recived and tax topic.
Last Monday night all of my bars went missing and got a message of your refund is still processing. Tax topic gone but all info is still there on the right side. Called its talked to a nice mr. Howard on friday and told my refund is sitting at the error dept and he read me a generic letter the irs would send me. I called a tax advocate this am bc I have a hardship and need my refund to pay bills. She told me to call the Irs as its my 21 day as of today. ???? -

Filed 1/7 accepted 1/12 getting ” processing your return and refund date will be provided when available” I contacted tax advocate she looked into it and basically got told everything is good just processing. Monday. I got told should see it next week basically six weeks from 1/19 or pretty damn close. I called IRS prior to contacting advocate and got told several different things basically no knew what was going on. I found out a couple things, mostly when the computer went down it delayed processing up to weeks and this is causing me issues. I double checked with advocate and got told that computer has to verify things that is what taking so long.. Still no DD date but got told it should have DD date soon we will see

So, this morning my status has changed. It just says “we have received your tax return and it is being processed.” No codes, instructions or no longer says a date will be provided when available. Anyone else seeing this change? Filed and accepted on 1/22/16.

I filed and was accepted on 1/22/16; bars went away on January 29, “processing, a date will be provided when available” I have no codes, no instructions; called on 2/12 was told everything looked good it’s just processing; called again on 2/15 was told that I may have to verify ID and gave me a # to call; tried to verify online, unsuccessful; tried to call but they are not taking calls at this time; called again yesterday (2/18), this time I was told that my return was pulled for a random review and it might take 6-8 weeks; Not sure if I should call again to see what answer I get this time :) I have not received a letter and getting pretty frustrated. Trying to get in touch with TA

Did anyone else receive any updates over the weekend? Ours still says “Your return is being processed” TT152. (efiled and accepted 1/19). Nothing changed over the weekend. Our calls to the IRS end up with the person telling us that something in our return is being reviewed and we should receive a letter within 30 days. They can’t find a letter on file at this time though. I have no idea if this is a stall tactic or if we really will be getting a letter. Wouldn’t our TT change if we were getting one? Anyone have any insight on that? Thanks!

I got the same thing. I filed jointly with 4 dependents. I claimed EIC but not any childcare tax credits. I filed with TT on 1/21/2016, TT says accepted 1/22/2016 but Iv called the IRS multiple times and they say it wasn’t accepted until 1/25. My husband and I both originally had one bar on WMR, then on day 5 after filing, I lost all bars and got the message “we are still processing your return and a date will be provided when available” message but my husband still had one bar on his WMR. Last week he also lost his bars and now has the same message as me using his SSN. Iv called the IRS everyday since Monday and have received a different answer every time. From what I am understanding, I am under review and they don’t know anything. My tax return looks fine to the IRS agents iv spoken too. My 21 days was up yesterday, and I still don’t have any information but was told to wait until Monday to call back again. I already called the bank and they havn’t received anything, Iv already called the IRS ID verify number and verified myself and my husband but they said that that was not the issue holding up my tax return. Getting a little pissed now, I’m expecting a decent amount back. I have not received state (OR) or federal. Both sights just give generic messages.

Filed and accepted on January 19 and bar disappeared around Feb. 6. The most logical answer to me is the bar is gone and showing still processing because they are behind and are not able to get the refunds out in less than 21 days. It is nothing you have done or you are not an isolated situation, we All are experiencing the same. The only thing I really don’t get is the people that call some are sent to another because they need to identify themselves; social, refund amount etc. I know you can identify yourself online. Once the person identifies themselves the processing can proceed. So, I am wondering if you call and identify yourself does this save them time and they can proceed? Hmmm…

Has anyone who was receiving the “still processing” message received a refund yet? Our return was accepted 1/19. Went from 1 bar to “still processing” message on 2/6. 21 days was up on 2/9. Still no changes for us. We’ve called the IRS twice – they keep saying that it’s still processing, under review, no letters have been sent out to us, to just keep waiting. We are unsure what is going on.

I am in the same boat. I filed on 1/19 and was accepted by the IRS on the same day. I had one bar for a long time and then on this past Saturday, the bars disappeared and it just says my return is processing and date will be given when available. No error code….just the standard refund info code. All of my info is still in the side bar, as well. I’ve heard a few theories on why this happens, but honestly, who knows….I started racking my brain at first….wondering if I had a possible offset. I have some student loans but I am not in re-payment yet. I have no former tax liabilities either. I went back and meticulously checked over my return to make absolute sure every number, letter and punctuation was correct. lol. Nada. After flipping out, I checked myself and decided to calm the heck down. It will come when it comes, I suppose. Today is day 21, but I am going to wait it out for at least a few more and see how things go.

Filed 1/14 Accepted 1/15..one bar since. Called IRS 2/4 and was told still processing, received on 1/20 but no DDD yet. Was able to order return transcript 2/5 and 2/6 woke up to no bars, no tax topic and message only says “Your return is being processed”. No other info given..still can see info on left side with SSN,filing status and refund amount. Filed with HRB online and when called them rep said he can only estimate DDD to be 2/10 based on estimated refund schedule online. WHAT IS GOING ON?? I am worried!!! 21 days will be up on 2/10!!!

My bars went away days ago, i was able to file early before the file date. I called a couple days ago, and was told that they had a computer problem, looked my stuff up and said it all looked fine, and that they were about week behind and thats why our bars went away, because they cannot have the refunds in less than 21 days.

Mine had been showing the first step of the bar (return Received) and now 2 days ago when I checked it the bar is gone, and it just says we are processing your return and will have a date when available. Someone please explain what this means.

I got this directly from the IRS site.
Q10: Does Where’s My Refund? always display my refund status with the tracker showing three steps?
No. In some cases the tracker graphic will not be shown if your return is being reviewed prior to step two: “Refund Approved,” and instead an explanation or instructions will be provided depending on the situation. This can happen even if you previously checked Where’s My Refund? and it showed the status as “Return Received” along with the tracker. In these cases be assured that we have your tax return and we are processing it. Please follow the directions provided by Where’s My Refund? . Otherwise if we need more information we will contact you – usually by mail. If we send you a letter about your return, please follow the instructions in the letter as soon as possible. -
