      Hi Guys!

My tax preparer already prepared my taxes that consists of my husband and I as well as our 2 kids. One of my kids was born in 2021 and should be eligible for the last tax stimulus that went out (all 2021 babies are) .. however when my tax guy did my taxes he said that because the IRS has no knowledge about the baby, the amount that we were approved is less than what it should be .. and it will increase once the IRS adjusts the tax credits?

has anyone ever heard of that? I thought that once he entered her SSN in the dependent section it would update to the correct amount?

I did my taxes on e-file.com and it automatically gave us $1,400 as soon as I entered our new baby born in 2021 into e-file.com system.

hmm, ill have to ask him about that – he said that the IRS has to verify the babies info before providing the credit. he does it manually so its not through any of the services like turbotax or H&R Block. I wonder if that makes a difference.

No. I filed with turbo tax and had a baby in 2021. Once you put the social in of the baby born in 2021 it asked if I received the stimulus, I said no. They credited it to me and I could see that amount before I filed.
