      Anybody ever been audited? Do u generally get ur refund before they mail u the audit letter? Heard the IRS only audited 0.5% of all returns last year. I think u have a better chance of getting struck by lightning. Lol

          GOT AUDITED FILED 2/9/21 STILL WAITING ON Refund DIDNT FIND OUT I WAS BEING AUDITED UNTIL 5/10/21 JUST UNBELIEVABLE HOW MESSED UP THIS TAX YEAR IS IVE BEEN FILING MY SAME KIDS FOR THE LAST 10 YRS SAME JOB AS WELL I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY I GOT AN AUDIT TO BEGIN WITH

            Idk i was audited the first time last year ever. But you get a letter in the mail after a month of you will be audited. Took me like 7 months to get the refund afterwards. But if you don’t get your refund within the normal 21 day time frame from the filing date, I’d say expect an audit then.

              I got audited three years ago I had to verify my kids residence with school records I didn’t get my refund for three months after filing

                Filed 2019 a year ago and still waiting… the stress they put on people is beyond ridiculous!! Get told a different story every time! Not filing 2020 even if I have to get extension until I get my 2019 !!

                    If you get audited you don’t get your refund until after they verify whatever they audited you for. It usually takes several months.
