Are school credits delaying refunds?

Hi. I filed with taxact, was accepted 1/24. No credits but the school credit one. I still haven’t received any DDD yet. Just the “your return is processing and a date will be provided.” WHAT IS THE HOLD UP? Someone at the IRS told me they were delaying school credits too but then I heard differently by two other IRS reps. I am so confused and frustrated. I received school credit along with my w2 last year and had no issues, received it 2/10 last year. Help!

I filed a pretty basic return w-2, lottery winnings and an education credit. I filed 2/2 and accepted the same time. I was finally able to order my transcript today. I should be getting a DDD very soon.

But I don’t think they’re delaying due to education credit.

I am wondering this too…..what is taking so long!! I filed 1/23 Single only education credit.

Whoever told you that they’re delaying school credits was most likely a temp or an employee that wanted to get you off the phone.

There should be an update on “Where’s My Refund” tonight going into tomorrow morning for those receiving weekly updates. I can’t tell you which you are, but since it’s been a while, my opinion is to go with the more optimistic route and check “Where’s My Refund” tomorrow morning.

If you haven’t received any sort of updates on “Where’s My Refund” or haven’t received your deposit by next Wednesday, Feb 15th, I would encourage you to call the IRS to check on the status of your refund :)

I think that the whole new system is screwing everyone up a bit. I hope you get it soon.
