This happened to us too.
Filed with TT, accepted 1/28. We finalized an adoption last year and I’m self employed so I anticipated something with either of those if anything but all looked great. After the wait for the child credit we thought we would be in the clear.
Today we got a letter asking for our 1095-a and the 8962 forms. It also says NOT to file an amended return.
BUT we had private employer insurance with an HSA the majority of 2018 and didn’t use the marketplace. We never got a 1095-a and didn’t indicate that on our tax returns either so we are kind of baffled and annoyed.
Our transcripts still aren’t available either.

@donna
When you get the letter and call you can fax your paperwork to them
And your return will process quickly
Happened to my mom a year ago -

Finally got a letter today which explains why I have the still processing message. It was the identity verification. Now that I’ve done that I have to wait even longer. It says up to 9 weeks but I honestly don’t think it would be that long…..at left I hope not.

Pudgi – just curious, what is a 12C letter? If you don’t mind sharing?

Well I have TT152. Amount still shows on left, no change in filing status. Just this damn new “still processing” message as of this morning. I liked my 1 bar accepted and being processed message much better. Nothing in the mail today. Argh. Stressed.

Filed and Accepted on 2/2
Called today just to find out I got pulled for review. Idk what’s happening. First time ever. My refund is 100% correct to my knowledge. They said it could be up to another 45days and that they dont have a reason other than it could have been random or anything that the computer could have red flagged. Anyone else know the process or have had this done before? -

filed 1/23 accepted 1/23 lost bars 2/10 to STILL PROCESSING. No update or codes. Got 12C letter in mail on 2/23 dated 2/21. That made 31 days. Mailed everything in on 2/23 so wait and see. Still Processing is not always a good thing. This is second time in 4 years with a letter. Last year did not get letter but took 34 days to get my refund. This sucks big time!!

I was accepted on 2/2 and after waiting 2 1/2 weeks with the “still processing” message, I received a verification letter. Not saying this is the case for everyone but on the phone they told me if the bars disappear and u have no codes, refund amount and filing status is still on the side to expect a verification letter. Prayers!!!

This is my experience and may I add everyone situation is different. This is my second time that I had to ID verify. The first time was about 3 years ago and this seems to happen when I change my bank account. This year 2019 I filed 2/2/2019 accepted in the system the same day. On 2/8/2019 mine updated but only to return has been received and is STILL being processed. I had a simple tax return and school credits and couldn’t understand why. But then it hit me I went from head of house hold to single, change my bank information again. My 21 days would have been the 2/25/19 but I called on 2/21/19 and was told that a letter was sent out on 2/14/19 and would take 14 days to receive it. I got my letter today in the mail to verify my identity. So now it’s the waiting game again. 3 years ago I update 4 day after I called and received my funds the following week. I pray it goes the same and I pray this put someone mind at peace. This was and is my experience and everyone is different.

I filed 1/28 and have been stuck on the still processing since 2/15. I finally found out why today. Spoke with IRS and found out they have sent a letter advising I need to do form 8692. I have not received the ltr yet. Said it can take up to 14 days to receive the ltr. I must return ltr and form by mail and will take 8 weeks to process after they receive it. Im devastated. I filed TT and it accepted all my info from my 1095A and did not say I needed a 8692 for health insurance. Now I know Im waiting until at least May. Possibly could change my refund amount as well. I suggest you call and speak to someone due to how long you have been waiting. Good luck.

I woke up to this as well, after no changes since my return was accepted on Feb 6th. Bars gone, still processing, refund date will be provided when available. Refund amount still on the side but TT 152 is gone. Just hoping it’s not bad news!

We called my son has a simple return, single no credits. They said they are backed up. If that is the case why did his sister get hers already and she filed after him, I don’t understand it either, we are calling them again today so I can help him talk to them straight, he is 22 years old and timid, he filed on 1/30/2019 they should be able to tell us why instead of “we are behind”!

I have had that message for over 10 days now. I was accepted on 1/28. Still processing on 2/16 and transcripts say N/A. Only thing different for me. This year is I took the standard deduction instead of itemizing. Have no Eic but I do have Actc. Im ill over it. Cant get a person on the phone at irs. Just a waiting game.

I woke to the “still” message Mon. A refund date will be provided when available. I’ve never gotten this one before. So I’m reading all the posts I had previously skipped over when I was at “received and being processed.” Need my refund desperately. Please y’all…update if you got a DDD and how long it took? I f/a on 2/7 both credits no changes except for lower income last year. I will update too.

I filed on 2/2 as well and was accepted the same day. I had the bar for about a week then I got the “still processing”. My refund amount is still on the side but now it says single instead of head of household. I haven’t received any letters and there are no codes when I check. I’m so worried!

@Shana Garett
Same Exact thing. I filed 2/4 in the afternoon . Mine updated last night on the 23rd to still being processed. This is so stressful. Never happened to me last year. I claimed credits for my children and EIC like last year. Only difference is I had another baby last year and claimed her. I got the still being processed message when give refund date when available. My stomach :(
