I was accepted on 2/10 my bars disappeared Saturday with the refund is still being processed message.
Called the IRS but they claimed they can’t tell me anything yet.
I’m reading a lot people have this issue.
Anyone have a definite reason as to why this is?
I read a reason in FAQs but it sounds like hearsay and not a definite answer.

I’m Still Getting the Same Message “Your tax return is still being processed. A refund date will be provided when available” No TT or anything. I heard the Irs is having to do things different Because of the 3rd Stimulus approval. Any Answers?

I received the message in 2017 and about a week later, I received a letter in the mail from the IRS. On the letter , it gave me a phone number to call and they asked me 3 questions. About a week later , I received my direct deposit.

I had the same problem last year and I didn’t get mine until mid March. I’m so sad today I lost hope

                  @taxman you are correct!

For all wanting to know — there is an actual difference in the 2-statements on WMR

The “Still processing” means as previously stated the IRS is more than likely reviewing your return

The “it is being processed” just means they have received your return & are processing.

It could be multiple things really. In one instance, it could be that the IRS found a mistake in the file and are correcting it themselves. In another instance, it could be they found a mistake and need you to call in and correct it. In a third instance, it could be nothing. It is not usually nothing.

It’s never happened to me, but I always assumed it was (at least in most cases) simply a weird glitch of some sort and didn’t necessarily mean anything.

I could of course be mistaken.

I feel for you… I wasn’t audited but missing one form on my husband’s marketplace insurance has held up our 2019 returns an entire year now.

I keep getting letters every sixty days saying ALLOW SIXTY additional days to review and make your return right. It’s a nightmare because of covid. Should never take this long to process our returns. I was fortunately still able to file this year. Your situation is BUllshit.

I called yesterday and they said there was no ID verify or any error with my account. It didn’t mean anything.

(Part 2 of 2) 2 days or so later I received a DDD. I received my refund on 3/4 last year. Never even ended up talking to the actual tax advocate, but I’m convinced that requesting that they expedite due to hardship sped it up.

Yeah last year I was put under review and got a letter in the mail basically saying they were going to review mine for longer. After 21 days from acceptance date, I was able to request a tax advocate and to.expedite review due to hardship and to do that application, I had to answer a bunch of questions. (Part 1 of 2)

If yours says “Still Processing” you can expect to receive a letter in the mail (could be ID verify, health insurance or an audit).

If it say “We have received your tax return and it is being processed.” you are just waiting to be approved.

That sucks. I’m hoping that’s not the case with me. No clue what would cause an audit for me.

Great, that is what I was worried about. This happened to me this year. It happened last year but it was related to health market place. I did not have that this year, so I am stressing

That happened to me last year. I filed, and had 1 bar for a week. Then they disappeared. It then said “still processing.” And the Tax Topic disappeared as well. It turned out to be a full fledge audit that still isn’t resolved. I can’t even file this year until the audit is concluded. It’s been a nightmare.
