@Rebecca- glad it worked out for you. This year was a learning experience for me also. I now know the state website much faster and reliable. I will be doing it that way from here on out. If you paid for state e-file contact Block and get your money back. Once I let them know I had a timestamp and confirmation from state, and I could prove theirs was a lie, they refunded my money.

@Annoyed- thank you for your help and truthfulness. I wish I would have listened to you the other. Anyone who has filed with BLOCK be careful and possibly reconsider refiling your state through your state website. I have been pending since January 9th through HR.

After being hung up on by a very rude man at HR BLOCK, I went to the state website and filed. Already transmitted. I am done being patient. Block is still not being truthful. I was told this morning that my account was on hold, then by another transfer said to wait until February 5th, then after being hung up on I spoke to someone else that said my return was rejected January 16th. They wanted to transfer me again but is was a 50 minute hold so I just filed through the state website. I had it all ready just for this reason and I wish I didnt wait.

Like others, I was in processing delays too, but when I realized they hadn’t sent in my state return, I submitted it myself through my state’s revenue website. I had a confirmation number immediately, and it began processing next day. Today I just got a notice of duplicate return for state, so they must be finally sending the backlog of returns that never were sent due to their server crash. I don’t believe it was ever a problem with updating of forms,I believe their systems just malfunctioned, and they weren’t truthful from the start. Different stories, to different people. Once I contacted Block and told them I had time and date stamp from my revenue department, of my SUCCESSFULLY filed state return, and I could prove that their transmission code and timestamp were false, they refunded my $19.95 state e-file fee. I will never transmit through their systems again.

My oregon state is still pending. Filed 1/9. On the phone with them now again. They said it has been on hold since January 30th. What? They told me last week they transmitted it. They even Gave me a transmission code. IRS has no record of anything.

I’ve refiled and been rejected several times with the hope that the IRS will accept my federal return. H&R tried to blame the IRS at first, but when I told them I filed my daughter’s return with Turbo Tax with no problem then they admitted the problem was on their end. I’m getting the February 5th message. I don’t know what’s going to be so magical about that date that the issue will be resolved. I just want to move on to someone else, but mad because I’ve wasted time and I don’t want to be charged by H&R when the problem is theirs. Totally frustrated because I was ready to file and meet the cutoff (Feb. 2) for the first round of refunds but now who knows when that will happen.

@Amanda…yes I’m glad you did that. Block just wanted you to sit around and wait so they dont lose business. Forget that, and too late lol

Heads up- HR Block gave this info::
Here’s why your return was rejected.
Federal Return Issue
Other Return Issue
There was a processing issue with your return, and it will be corrected on or about February 5, 2020. You don’t need to make any changes or updates. Just click Fix Issues and then Continue to File to e-file your return again.
We’ll help you fix these issues now, so you can file your return again. If you believe your info is correct, contact the IRS at 800-829-1040 to fix the issue. So I called and they said there WERE no issues with the return it was THEIR issues, so I just need to refile and hope their issues with the software gets fixed.
I said nope then refilled with turbo tax. My taxes were accepted within ten minutes and my refund bar is already showing a DDD of 2/14 -

Update: I just checked status in my HR Block software, lo and behold now it has that both my federal and state returns were accepted with a time stamp of 2/1 at 9pm and 11pm. I know that to be a lie because I already have a deposit date for my refund from federal, and i literally re-submitted my state myself. The state return, if they had indeed transmitted it, would have came back rejected because I successfully submitted my return through the revenue’s website and my refund for state already processing. Beware if your returns were part of their ‘processing delays’ and your status changed, i would verify with IRS and your revenue department that they actually got your returns.

If IRS indeed doesn’t have your return, I’d go to IRS.gov and use free file and e-file it there. You will have acceptance quickly. Then if Block actually does transmit it will just be rejected because you successfully e-filed already

ADDITIONAL TO MY LAST POST:
Me: I am looking at the federal section of my return and it states” your completed return was transmitted to the IRS” – how do I know this will actually get to the IRS since that statement is actually false? I am aware this is not your personal fault but I’ve spoken to 10 people at HR Block this week and not one was honest with me except for you so, you can understand my concern
Absolutely. When you submitted it, it tried to go thru the efiling process. It got stuck during the process. Currently, we are not alerted when a return does not go thru completely. Normally they go through as they should. There is a procedure for clients who have been in a pending status for more than 48 hours. I am creating the case as we chat to push the issue to the developers.

Just chatted with HR Block-
It appears that your return is stuck in the efiling system. I am going to create a case so that it can be further reviewed and pushed through the system.Me:what does it mean stuck in the efiling system? Is that on HR blocks side
It is stuck on the HR block side
Me:Ok, so it hasn’t actually been transmitted to the IRS at all then? When will it be transmitted
I am submitting a case so that it can be pushed through. It usually takes up to 48 hours.

I filled on 1/24, it was rejected on 1/28 and HR Block software pop-up stated it was an issue on their end. It told me to go to a certain form and manually re-enter a number. I did that, re filed and nothing. This is BS that the issues are with my tax software.

@Annoyed-HR block sent me an email yesterday while I was on the phone with them giving me a submission and transmission code for federal and state. No time stamp or anything. It’s not showing in my state account and HR Block just says pending. The state revenue said they wouldnt be able to check those for at least a week maybe 2. So I guess I will wait and if it’s not there by Wednesday maybe I will resubmit with the revenue. Thank you for the information. I filed January 9th and my Federal was accepted the 13th.

@Rebecca I think the worst that could happen, if hr did indeed transmit your return, and you were to resubmit, is that your resubmitted return would be rejected. I’ve never waited for my state to show up as received more than a day, even using software. If hr did transmit it shouldn’t take DAYS to at least show up as received , but maybe someone else knows more. I know next year I’m using IL state website again, they actually give you a confirmation number. They did initial process, and next day it showed up in wmr. Wait a few more days it may indeed be in queue and your state just hasn’t pulled it yet

@Rebecca- when did HR say they transmitted? Did they give you a timestamp? You wont see anything until your state retrieves your return from queue. Your state will take the first return it receives and reject any subsequent efiles. My situation different, they never transmitted at all. If HR eventually transmits, it will get rejected. My refund already being processed. I didn’t want to wait for them to ‘maybe’submit it, and frankly I dont trust them now

I am still not accepted for state. Hr block says they transmitted it to the state but it’s not showing. Would it cause delays if HR did transmit and I resubmit through the state revenue? I dont want to delay it more. State revenue says I would have to wait a week or two to find out if they received my return. So idk.

It’s an HR Block issue, definitely. My federal return made it to IRS but my state didn’t. I just e-filed my state return with my revenue department when I realized HR Block hadn’t sent it. Happily waiting on refund now, and have requested refund from HR Block. Don’t wait on HR Block, check IRS and your state wmr and if you don’t show they have your return, efile them somewhere else
