I am waiting also, went thru the same thing first bars then no bars then the letter. I called and verified on Feb 22, 2017 and still nothing. I have called the irs several times and they say the same thing 9 weeks from when i called to verify. This is crazy so that mean i will not receive mine until mid april. People have plans with their money and this is crazy. I don’t see why it take that long after you verify what are they trying to make sure another one don’t get filed in your name, this is ridiculous. SMDH

I got an ID verification letter today and immediately called and was on hold for a half an hour but spoke to a really nice woman and everything went as well as it could go. Now my return gets sent over to the “Injured Spouse” department and then I’ll finally get my refund. What a huge pain in the ass all of this is…

I filed on 1/29 and was accepted same day an hour or so later. My bars disappeared first weekend of Feb. today I got an identity verification letter in the mail and called immediately. They asked me the same questions you all got asked and told me I was all set. I should get my refund within 9 weeks and it would be a paper check. To say I was irritated is an understatement.

I filed on 1/28 and my bars went away with the ‘your tax return is still processing’ statement. I called into the IRS and spoke with a lady who said I would have to go through ID verification. I called the ID verification number and was told I had to wait until I had a letter mailed to me.
So I have called and spoke with about 3 different IRS folks since then. Each one that has looked at my account says there is no notation concerning my tax refund being held up.
Needless to say at this point I’m confused as to what is going on. I’ve heard the WMR site usually gets new information on Wednesdays so maybe I will see something then?
For anyone who did get a ID verification letter when did you submit and when did you get your ID verification letter?

I’m in the same boat. Received 4883c letter yesterday, called in and verified much of the same information (mother and fathers’ names, 2015 income, address, etc.)
I was told that everything checked out and to expect my refund within 9 weeks. -

I finally got my 4883c letter today and instantly called in to verify. I filed 1/13 accepted 1/17 and letter today dated 2/6 but they asked me questions about where I worked in 2014, how much I made, what I paid in federal from that job, mother and fathers names, where I was born, my birth date, address few years back and what it is now, what way I elected to be paid this year, what my acc. And routing numbers where and that was about it. But I heard it’s different for everybody. Not all the questions are the same. I verified all my info and the lady said it was all good and she was putting my return back into processing and it could take up to 9 weeks to see a refund. Crazy.

I called around and talked to multiple agents today. Finally found out that I had to go through the ID verification process. Called the ID verification phone number and was told that I would have to wait until I received the actual letter from the IRS and call back in to verify my ID. So a couple of questions if anyone could answer for me:
1. Has anyone received the actual letter from the IRS stating that they had to do ID verification? If so when did you file and when did you get the letter?
2. Has anyone gone through the ID verification process? If so what all types of questions/information was needed?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
