Anybody know a way to get alot of cash off prepaid card?

Does anybody know of a way to get a lot of cash off a prepaid card at one time. I need to buy a car. My refund is 5k and I need 4k of it for the car.

@tani is right. I got a car with my tax refund last year. Took my prepaid card to a bank, got $5k off my card. It is the same process as if you went to a bank and wanted to do a huge cash advance off a credit card. My prepaid card does not have fees for this process, but you may want to check and see if your prepaid card charges a fee for this.

Yes correct go into your credit union n tell them u want to do a cash advance (that’s what they call it but it’s basically a withdrawal over the counter )

I called GreenDot, and they told me that if I use an ATM to get cash off of the card, there was a $500 per day limit. If I am understanding what you all are saying, then I can take the card into my credit union and they can get the cash off?

Call the back of the customer service number and ask them how much is the fee to do a over the counter cash advance n when u go into a bank any bank tell them u want a cash advance for _____ amount (minus what ever fee it is to take the money off that the card company is charging) the banks don’t charge

You can withdrawal off your card at wells Fargo. Wal-Mart also charges 4.00

To get most of $$ off of the card. Take it with i.d. Into any bank tell them you would like s cash advance off the card. They will run it to very funds. You will sign the advance authorization the bank gives you. That’s it

In previous years I just got a money order with the card. I think I had to split it up into several, but it’s safer with a money order anyway.

Go to a bank. My local bank, which I don’t have an account, only charges $25 and you can take out every dime that’s on the pre-paid card. Has to be Visa Master Card it American Express pre-paid card though.

I agree with Ttcc. I’ve actually done that before. I went to a credit union, but I don’t remember if it was free. Your card holder may charge a fee per transaction.

last year I found the ATM where my card wasn’t charged. it’s Walgreens ATM. I took out over 2k in about ten minutes. in 300 dollar increments bc it had no limits.

One year I needed to buy a car and I went to a Walmart self serve station. I proceeded to find the cheapest items and I would scan one at a time and do a cash back of 100 bucks. I did that about 20 times and the machine ran out of money. There are easier and cheaper ways as noted in this thread though lol.

Last year when I was trying to buy a car, I just went to Walmart and got a money order for 2400.

Whatever place you’re buying from, ask if they accept a money order.

You can get large amounts at a bank. It’s usually about a $2-$3 charge. Some banks have limits and your card might have a daily limit so I’d check that out to make sure you can get what you need. You can also get done at the atm if that’s not enough and you can do cash back at stores to get the rest

Might want to allot more than a thousand for fees and vehicle maintenance. You could probably find a good used vehicle from a private seller for 2K. Most dealerships will rip you a new one especially if they see you are desperate or unknowable about vehicles. Never go and buy the first vehicle you see always shop around for a week or so if possible. You might need the automobile badly so you might not be able to wait but you dont want to end up like my friend, he went and got a title-loan the next month because he was out of cash.

Go to a bank, if you are not a member you will have to pay a small fee, and get a cashier’s check made out to the car company. We do it all the time.

Tip: if you open a savings account for $10 you can get them for free from most banks.

Do what’s called a cash advance at a bank teller. You don’t have to have a bank account with them either. Bank and green dot my charge a small fee usually 3-4$
