Filed 2/13. Message 1541 popped up on 2/18. Tuesday, 3/7, finally decided to call IRS since my 21 days were up. Spoke with someone within 5 mins. She was polite and basically read me the script about ACTC and EIC and also told me a letter would be sent out stating there was a delay. I thanked her (knowing full well there was an issue other than what she mentioned) hung up and called my state’s advocacy number and left a message. Someone called me back within an hour. She was able to tell me what the actual issues were, an offset for a student loan and my husband’s miliatary move w-2 wasn’t reported to the IRS by the finance dept. Took us til yesterday afternoon, 03/10, to get the proper paperwork from the military and the injured spouse form faxed over to the tax advocate’s office. The woman told me that we would receive a call from the person working on our case on Wednesday. This morning, I just decided to take a look at the transcript, totally not expecting anything. And then boom, the hold codes have been reversed and the refund issue code is there with a DDD of 3/27. And yes, while we did have to wait a while to get any info, even though my gut was telling me something wasn’t right behind the scenes, I feel so lucky to have everything resolved in less than 24 hours! But, it’s definitely bittersweet since I just wish it worked out the same for everyone else.

Wmr updates 2x on sat (once early am and again late evening) so if you didnt get a ddd this morning check again it may have updated again by now. Also, those who filed before the 15th remeber 21 days begins from the 15th if you had credits. If it hasnt been 3 weeks yet try not to be concerned unless your wmr message changes. Also in most case being “under review” will resolve itself and sinply means it just needs actual eyeballs on it vs the computer processing it so it takes a lil longer for the correct dept to look at it. The whole up to 60days you hear about is worst case senario. Try to keep calm. Good luck yall. Hope it doesnt take much longer for yall. P.s. Im a weekly so i update on saturdays and there was no change for me till my 3rd sat. (again starting from the sat after feb 15th if you have credits)

I justvwant to share my into with you guys and really let everyone know how strange the IRS really is.
This year I couldn’t file electronically because of I needed an IP pin and I never received one. I had to paper file something the IRS says will take between six to eight weeks to be processed. My tax preparer mailed my return out on 1/30.
It was received on 2/13. On 2/16 my bars disappeared and I received the message ” We are still processing your return and a refund date will be given when available”. I called the IRS and the agent told me because I had to us an I’d pin and I mailed it in instead I shouldn’t even call back until the beginning of April.
I checked WMR on 3/2 and my message changed to ” We have received your tax return and it is being processed”.
On 3/4 I had two bars and a DDD of 2/8. And I mailed my return in and this supposed to take longer and I have identity theft issues. And I know people who have filed electronically in January and they’re still processing. Also I did file electronically last year and this year I received my DDD date faster than I did last year.
I’m beginning to think that it all depends on whose desk your return ends up on.

I didn’t either. Filed 2/13. Cycle code 0705. Still stuck on 1541 on WRM, which I’m not really concerned about. My transcript has code 570 dated for tomorrow so hopefully something changes.
