American Express Serve Stimulus Payment

Hello, I received my stimulus money to this Serve card. However, I have no used this card since receiving my tax refund on it last year and therefore I don’t know the Pin number to get my funds off of this card. Luckily, I still have the card although I almost threw it away the other day because I thought I would never need it. I can’t get through to customer service at all. I was on hold for several hours over the weekend and couldn’t get through to anyone.

Any Ideas to help me out?

AMEXs system probably got overloaded with processing it shut their system down and they decided to just reject the remaining. From what I’ve read about other people’s experiences with mailed checks it takes about 10-14 days to get to you

Amex Serve is not a 3rd party s. It’s a legit checking account, and they definitely deposit it on the Serve card because my neighbor got his on his card. Chime account holders also received their deposits

@pissedcustomer just type your address the same exact way that it is spelled on your tax papers even if the person spelled it wrong that is the way it the IRS is going to accept it..also dont know if you did or not but if you have your W2 on hand …input that amount for your amount ..there was people putting their advance info in and for some that was from their last paycheck and not their W2 so they were getting locked out as well….just trying to help if possible..

Direct deposits are not going by income only printed checks. As far as the checks that went out for the 24th are because the bank the irs had on file was rejected. It still let people update but to prevent fraud they were automatically set to issue paper. Again the checks I have seen people getting today were incomes of all levels

For their sake I hope you are right. I’m assuming on the other hand they will get an update when their income bracket becomes available. Your stimulus was likely DD to whatever bank gave you the advance – Republic or whatever.

I updated my info wed morning right after it went live. I think that’s because the IRS tried to DD my stimulus but due to the fact I filed with an advance and fees that had to come from my refund the DD went to a closed account for JH or Republic Bank

IRS has to mail paper checks because they cant risk the chance of Amex Serve actually coming thru and depositing everyone’s money. They dont want the same thing that happened already to happen again. Nobody thought this would be a problem.

The reason I say this is because it states in black and white right above the link for Get My Pymt that if you provided DD INFO on your returns you will not be able to change it…..but if you didn’t you could provide the info. I bet that is what the issue is….so if you had to change the info it’s gonna kick a check I bet

I do my taxes thru taxact and republic takes out fees and sends me remaining balance, but on my taxes to the irs I always put my bank info as a backup. They dd my stimulus money to my bank Wednesday, Just a suggestion always put your bank info on your taxes, it does help. Good luck every body.

well to everyone that has the serve card you can get your acc# and routing# by calling the # on the back of the card BUT you have to first listen to recent transactions after that it will tell you to hit 6 for main menu hit 6 and then its option4 . I finally was able to log in to irs.gov. i was making a mistake when putting my info. If you log into myjacksonhewitt portal. It will have an icon in the center with a light bulb. Then you put your info. It will tell your tax info.ajusted and refund amount. In put that in the irsgov then banking but make sure you put the exact amount. Do not put . or , I kept putting the refund amount in both sections. If this helps anyone. I been getting emails from the serve.

@ronnie if you don’t do anything then it won’t- you’ll get a paper check. If you sign onto the irs portal you can enter your direct deposit info for the Amex serve card and it will be deposited on there.

So, it’s likely they provided their DD info for their cards and that info was included on their tax returns. The reason they’re saying you’re putting in the wrong agi and return is because you are. If you want all your correct return amounts and agi go to myjh.com register and when you get an account you can get your EXACT amounts you need for the get my payment app. Just find the blue lightbulb with a lightning bolt in it and press on that. The Serve card and the IRS website are a freaking joke. I have used my JH paperwork from 2018 and 2019 and it tells me that it is the wrong information then it licks me out for 24 hours. I am putting in my AGI and my refund amount exactly as it is on my returns. I’m blessed to still be working full time and not desperate for this money. Some people aren’t as fortunate. After being locked out for the 24 hours I was able to log back in to get my payment and enter my correct agi. I had to request a copy of my return at a local JH branch to get that. I was told they no longer add it to your packet unless you ask for it when filing your return. After irs.gov accepted my DD info I was locked out again so I plan to try to get back in tomorrow and see if there’s any update on DD date.

Once you update your direct deposit on IRS website, Get My Payment, your all set. You will get a response showing last four digits of your debit card. If you filed with JH login in to your account On JH they have all the correct information to input in for the aig and amount of your return. I entered it wrong yesterday and it locked me out. Here is how you do it the agi. Is on the 1040 form line 8b then when it ask you did you receive a refund hit yes and then put how much your return was not you advance make sure you AC and RN match and you good mine got accepted

I got locked out at 7:30 yesterday after I put all my info such as my SS number, birthday and address. It still won’t let me in and says I have to wait 24 hours. So, after lots of research myself… JH said to look at the “tax benefits summary” page to get the AGI. It’s a bit tricky but it’s about 11 lines down. It is labeled “total adjusted gross income” It IS DIFFERENT than your wages or total income.

Hi Mike! Did you get the refund advance? It’s possible one is from when you did the advance with your last pay stub. In which case, that is not the one you should use. The one you got after actually filing is the correct one. The dates should indicate which was last and which was first.

I had no problem putting my information in on the irs website portal to receive the money on my American express serve card you have to get the correct routing number and account number off your card you have to know the exact amount you made last year don’t add commons period or cents and the exact amount you got back it was simple took me 5 minutes to get accepted but i did not get an advance and the bank is called American express national bank so i hope this helps

They have updated their website if you have received a advance refund it tbd if it will be on your card. If yo ha e the serve card and did not get the advancement than it will be direct deposited to your car. Just google stimulus serve card and you’ll see they’ve updated all the information as they get it. This was today.

If your Jackson Hewitt preparer did not write the account number on your return then irs can’t Direct deposit to prepaid card without this info. You have to use the irs portal and input a routing and account number . Once you give that then you will get confirmation. Now I’m waiting some more . God only knows when I will get it. I had it go to my bank account not the dumb prepaid account.

The irs posted anyone who got any type of advance through any tax service will not get their money on their card they have to go to the website and put ur bank info in the my payment section they said they cant put the deposit on theese cards because when u got ur advance it was through a third party account which creates u an account number just for that loan thats y they cant deposit it

I used the AGI that was on my 2019 tax return and system said it was wrong it asked me to use 2018 so I input that info. Dang system said I exceeded the amount of tries for the day I am locked out until tomorrow. WTH? This is so frustrating. Whether there was a loan or not – whether we had fees taken out or not. If you got an advanced refund thru JH, you WILL NOT receive your stimulus on the Serve card because technically, once your refund was approved, it was deposited to JH and then they deposited the amount still owed to you on the Serve card. However, if you did not get an advance on your refund and it was deposited onto the Serve card, then yes, the IRS will deposit your stimulus check on the Serve card.

The stimulus checks can be deposited on to your American serve card but you have to go the irs website and enter your routing number and account number and you have to know the exact gross amount that you made and the exact amount you got back I just did it because i don’t have a bank account and i didn’t want to wait for a paper check at the end it said the money will be deposited into that account hope this helps

The portal for entering DD info is open on the IRS website..you have to go put your routing and acct number in. I used a personalized Serve card that I have used for the last two years. My stimulus DID NOT go on the card, the IRS said it didn’t have the info. Not sure how long it will take to get it, but just a heads-up. Calling JH or Serve won’t do any good. I had to update my direct deposit too. Just go to irs.gov…they have it updated now ..you do need your tax info from whatever year u filed last for verification. I had to update my payment info on the irs get my payment tool to receive direct deposit a few minutes ago. The sight stated that they did not have the information to direct deposit my stimulus. Same for me, I had a refund advance and then my refund went on my serve card. I just checked the irs tool and they didn’t have my payment info. Once you submit that, you can keep check on when your check is sent, just the “where’s my refund.”

It is a law that was put in place in 1994 deadbeat parents that defy child support orders dont get tax refunds or credits. Download the serve app and login if you still know your credentials, when you do that it will have the options in the settings which is under the 3 dots on the top right. Go down to login and security and it will let you change it there.

If you have the personalized card and didn’t get any advance or fees taken out you’ll get it, if it’s the temporary card or had fees or advance taken it will be a paper check might be able to enter DD on irs website when it comes out but nothing confirmed. 80 million checks are going out tomorrow don’t get your hopes up. I forgot my pin once. AMEX Serve customer service told me to download the serve app and change my pin through settings. I can’t remember the step by step process, but once you get in and change your pin the changes take place instantly. I was able to use my card at an ATM immediately after I saved my new pin.
