      Good evening all,

My boyfriend and I mailed amended returns about 2 weeks prior to IRS sending it’s workers home. I know they’ve received it, but there’s been no update at all via IRS website. I know it takes up to 16 weeks, but I’m just wondering if they are even working on amended returns at all given that I am due quite a bit. If anyone has any info regarding amended returns right now please reply.

One lady I talked to right as things were starting to get bad said that most smaller offices were closing to be cleaned and sanitized and should open in 2 weeks but that wasn’t for sure. Then I read they were no longer processing paper returns due to the virus. But mine was sent in and received way before that. We filed originally 1/31 and after waiting found out needed to amend it.

@thicks yeah I read that. I just assumed it pertained to mailed returns that hadn’t already been received. So that includes previously mailed and received items as well then? And @Jodie14 I hope and pray it’s the same for me. I’m not able to access my transcripts atm.

@jodie so they are working on transcripts?

@Thicks, what if you mailed your taxes in months ago (January) and they already received it and are supposedly processing it? Thanks.

Jessnicci, I’m sorry, but the IRS is currently dealing only with electronically filed material.
