I am currently going through an audit and if they say I owe something before my deposit….will it be pulled back? I wanted to wait to file this year until it was over. But, I needed the money to hire an attorney.

I’ve already turned all the paperwork in, but since it’s the irs I’m sure they’ll say I did something wrong.

no. thery dont have ability to pull it back.they can stop it , but it has to be the DD, they cannot pull money out of a account to take back. once the dept of treasury releases the funds to the ach , theres nothing theyll do at that point.

Yes, as a matter of fact that is why traditional banks typically don’t release funds as soon as they get the first notice from the treasury on direct deposits. Until the funds have been released by the Treasury there is no guarantee that the funds will be released as the first notice indicates.

The prepaid card outfits know this as well, but for them it is a lucrative gamble, they release funds several days early, they realize that they are going to get caught short on a small percentage of refunds, but they make so much money on fees and charges that it is a small exposure compared to what they make as long as they have a reputation of “getting your money faster”,

LeSean, did you receive your refund and then they pulled it back out of your account?

Sorry, I’m confused by your post.

                Shane,

So, are you saying that you think it happened because you had called them?

Yes they did my wife the same way 2 years ago and we just came to an agreement back in October. It sucked they waited until they gave her refund then audited her in June of 2015.
