I just got off the phone with an IRS rep… After waiting for about 30 minutes the rep answered. He was kind to me but I’m not understanding what’s going on… After I told him my issue of being stuck on “received your refund and its being processed” he put me on hold for about five minutes, he comes back and says… “Anyone who claimed eic has to wait until the 27th to get their ddd.” I told him nicely, that was not true because I know several people who claimed that credit and they have received their refund or waiting for the 22nd. Then he says, ” Maybe, everyone is different” I know that’s just a generic response to give us especially if there’s nothing wrong with our returns… What do you guys think?

I’ve now received THREE emails with three versions of a reply from someone here. I don’t know if she keeps writing them because they’re not posting here (I’m seeing a weird delay effect between email notifications of mentions and posts visible here, so maybe it’s the same for everyone). Anyway, in case her replies do post here, I’ll go ahead and respond to her claim that landlords can’t evict people for being “only” a month behind on rent, I guess to either accuse me of lying about the urgency of getting my refund, or to suggest I’m some kind of scummy squatter who deserves eviction.
I’ve never heard of any place where landlords can’t serve an eviction notice anytime they want. I’m not even one month behind; I was 19 days behind as of yesterday when the notice was taped on my door. Mama Osa you are right–my notice says they will seek a judgement for eviction if I don’t pay by 7 days (and I just noticed it’s BUSINESS days, so that would be the 28th–if I get the deposit by then I’m fine).
But to the person who keeps writing me: I don’t know if you live in some tenant protection oasis state, but there is NO minimum past-due rent date in Alabama.
You don’t know what you’re talking about.
You don’t know what you’re talking about.
You don’t know what you’re talking about.
Now get a life and if you don’t want to read our “bitching and complaining” may I suggest the Disney website? -

Ralph Smith Just to let you know, I tried that expedited return for hardship thing today and I’m sorry to say it does not work, in fact I’m now kinda worried that I may have made my situation worse by trying it. –Please don’t feel like I’m annoyed at you or anything; the ‘Taxpayer Advocate Service’ website makes it sound like exactly what I needed too….but no.
So, I have basically been on the phone all day, or rather on hold most of the day. I’m too weary now to run through the whole series of frustrations I went through, but I will say the first 2 of 5 people I spoke to were within the first hour, and if it weren’t for how NICE the second person was, I would not have endured all the other hours and not-nice people.
The first one was just an IRS employee who seemed to delight in actively causing me despair, saying nobody on PATH can get their refund before the 27th, saying I’m under review, saying the earliest anyone from the Advocate department will even call me to start the application process would be 5 business days from now, and then she literally hung up on me, which is what made me find the website and direct phone number to the Advocate department. It was there that I talked to the second lady, who was very sympathetic, not only about my situation but about the mistreatment of the first lady. She said ‘hang on a minute let me see what I can do’ (you know how good THAT sounded!). When she came back she said something like she fast-tracked me through that 5-day thing, gave me a pin number, and said she was transferring me to an actual ‘advocate.’
Well, the rest of the day didn’t get me a single step past that. No speaking to an advocate, just 3 more low-level reps, each one taking at least 30 minutes to reach, each one insisting on looking up my refund like I wasn’t already “cleared” past this point, each one talking over me only to repeat stuff they already said (like children!), AND….each one saying totally DIFFERENT things. One even said that no PATH returns could even begin PROCESSING until the 15th (and no refunds til the 27th, same as that first woman). The one thing they were consistent on was that nobody on PATH can get hardship assistance. Again, I could have accepted that, if it weren’t for that second lady, who said no such thing about PATH returns. Also I think each person who answered the phone was putting me back to the back of the line on hold, because I had the audacity to still want to talk to an advocate and not just give up.
A few minutes ago while still waiting on hold for the umpteenth hour, I searched ‘hardship’ here in the forum search. The archived thread I looked at is utterly haunting, not only for how familiar it sounds, because of the DATES of the posts (MARCH), and some of those people got an advocate starting in January. Well, apparently I am ‘in’ the Advocate department now…..I only hope it doesn’t make me get my deposit even later than if I hadn’t wasted this whole day and gotten so depressed and scared I don’t know what to do with the evening.

Katt What unprecedented insights! Why has nobody here ever told us all the fact that millions of people file taxes and that it’s a systemic process? I guess people who know that have no reason to be here, which is why they never come here and inform us. Katt must be more than human, an angel perhaps?

Sort of off-topic but I’m really confused. –I’m getting emails with the heading ‘You have been mentioned’ and they are very nice messages obviously from members to me, pertaining to my comment within this thread, but I don’t understand why I don’t see them as comments HERE–wouldn’t that be what “mentioned” means? Also none of them show the member’s name, and the return email address is no-reply at igotmyrefund dot com, so I assume I can’t reply to them? Sorry, I’m just really unclear on how this aspect of the forum works.

It’s not just TT. I filed with Slayer and I’ve read post from people who filed all over the place who are also stuck on ‘received and processing.’

IDK what state you are in (I am in northern VA), but i have played the eviction game too :(
I will tell you this- personal anecdote but hey…
You have until the ACTUAL YOU GOTTA GO TO THE COURT HOUSE AND HAVE A HEARING COURT DATE to pay- if it was just a notice from the management company, legally nothing is happening to you YET, sounds like a 5-day pay or quit to me.
Now if you get the official “XXX County District Court” notice on official court paperwork coming from a sheriff posted to your door- THEN panic. A little. You should be able to look up your district court online, and look in the “civil” section to see if your name pops up, not every state/county has this but most do. If your name is not there you should be ok a little while longer as your account is still “in house” and not with the courts yet.
My experience….If you make it to the court date and have paid IN FULL by then, show up at your court dates with the receipts you paid and show the judge….USUALLY they will let you continue living there. Has worked for me in 3 apartments in my life (worked as a temp, so sporadic pay).
Good luck!!

@Gurlcat
I like your post… He actually told me to please allow him to place me on hold so he can see what’s going on.. Lol… Really??? And that’s his only answer?? He didn’t tell me that there’s anything wrong with my refund or anything… Just the lie that everyone who claims eic has to wait… Lol -

It’s the system that releases the funds.. and the people getting them were released.. think about it.. there’s millions of returns and refunds to be processed.. it’s not the IRS picking and choosing who gets theirs first and last.. it’s how the system sequenced and sent.. and on the IRS website it does say everyone’s money will in the accounts by the 27th.. meaning the 27th is the latest..because of the system.. they don’t personally release our funds..the system does.. so be patient.. we will get our money that we all desperately want and need! We are all in the same boat in this waiting game..it sucks to see people getting DDD dates and still being stuck on the friggen processed BS.. but what can we do.. we have no choice but to sit back and wait… bitching and complaining is pointless.. what does it do really??

2/16 got a DDD 2/22
He is just waiting on it to post to his accountI filed 1/28

February 20, 2019 at 12:43 pm #4286775JT
It’s not true that is suppose to be the date where most Pathers should have a refund by. Also the hold date was until 2/15 now it’s like the irs is saying that they are held until the 27th.
Kind of bs

@ralph…. would be kind enough to share your details?
Cycle Code
or processing dateAccepted when and what tax product. TT filers all seem go be waiting in a holding pattern. I am gonna call TT and see if they have any communication from IRS as to why it seems 99% of their filers are stuck at processing still.

Bascially they do not know anything other than what is on the paper tacked to their monitor and the processors have a 02/27 deadline for all PATH folks…probably a bonus tied to it as I have run both IT teams and call centers ….both in play here. Just guessing using previous experience. Seasonal employees are hard to train as they are there for 1 reason and that is to answer your calm….beyond that ????

Filed married and claimed eic.We got a date of 2/22,so definitely a generic response.

ughhhhhh. I had part of my rent money stolen this month, and yesterday I got an official eviction notice taped to the door….pay by (guess what date?)…the 26th. I thiiiiink the management company likes me enough to maaaayyyybe let me slide one more day if I ask between now and then. But it sure would be helpful if I had some proof that I WILL have the money then. You know, like a fucking DDD on WMR!!! This is beyond ridiculous. I filed on the 22nd, so it has now been 30 days, and I literally still don’t even know what date I’ll get the deposit. I find it especially galling if they are actually instructing phone rep’s to tell PATHers the 27th. If that’s the sad generic truth, why did it take Geisha doll’s rep 5 minutes to “find” that information? Are they instructed to put people on hold to create the illusion of personalized help? And let me guess, he was taking all that time just passively viewing Geisha’s information, not UPDATING it with her DDD.

I literally just got off the phone with an awesome IRS rep! Here’s what I was told.. she put me on hold to check my refund.. said everything was fine with it..np issues..etc.. she said that some will receive a DDD early some won’t. It’s how the system releases them.. I asked about weeklys..and dailies..she said that had nothing to do with how they get released.. they release funds everyday.. and that WMR updates every night between 1 am and 6 am.. so checking more than once a day is pointless.. she said refunds will be in accounts by the 27th..but can come earlier.. just a matter of when they get released.. she made me feel a hell of a lot better! Hoping I get some good news soon!! But either way we will all have our money by the 27th!!

I wonder when they say the 27th if that is the date it is sent, or the day it will hit the bank by. Usually the messages say your refund was sent to your bank on this date and you should receive it by this date.

I’m thinking the same… I mean he couldn’t tell me anything that was wrong… So I guess I’m just waiting. -

I think it’s a possibility everyone who’s received may have been a Test Batch and probability of us having to wait till 27th is likely.

Yeah, we’ve come to the realization that everyone is different. Some received their DD some didn’t. Ya just gotta wait like the rest of us.
