I’m claiming my sister as a new dependent for 2021 tax year. TurboxTax calculates $1400 as additional dependent stimulus #3 refund, even though she had already received $1400 last year. She claimed independently, wasn’t my dependent for 2020 tax year. Is TurboTax correct?

You cannot claim her then. There’s no way around this unfortunately because, it will keep insisting you either already recieved 1400 for her, or you will. And since she received it for herself last year, you are not entitled to it. If you’ve already filed, you will have to pay it back, or, as mentioned here already, it will stall your refund as irs corrects the mistake.

It don’t work that way. You will end up owing that back

Sounds tricky. She received $1400 for herself last year
This year your claiming her as a depending and attempting to get $1400 for her.
I don’t think either way it will hold up your taxes but worse case later you may get a letter saying you were overpaid.
I’m sure other people on here my know more about this kind of situation
