hey, i have account now. i wish this topic were “how do i get the most money off the least fees” because its an easy answer … i just did it today.
go to the ATM = $300 – $500 per day. do that first, i went with $200 at walgreens where it’s only a $2.50 fee.
then pop your head into the bank, any bank.
walk up to the teller and say “I need to do a cash a cash advance on my visa card”
They will take your card and give you up to $1000 or up to $2000 if your cardholder agreement supports it. it’s a 3% transaction fee, though, so you’re paying $3 for every dollar you take out. I removed $1000 and paid $30 for the privilege.
I do not know if this is a daily limit or a ‘per teller’ limit – but if you go bank hopping, you might set off some VISA/MC red flags that could freeze your card.
It *might* be able to be run as a POS transaction, like at a walmart self checkout or something where you’d theroretically be able to remove up to your entire balance (or $2500/$5000 depending on your cardholder agreement).
That would be limited in the real world by the amount of money in the POS machine and the transaction limits of the retailer. I did pull an extra $200 out of the wal-mart self checkout though, with no fee, removing a total of $1400 in cash for a total fee of $32.50
If it doesn’t have to be instant, you can also ACH into another bank account – no limits, subject to cardholder agreement. You could also transfer it to debit card with higher daily limts if you already have one.
These are based on my ‘got it in the mail i think’ accountnow card and I didn’t try to press my limits.
you can also go to https://www2.consumercardaccess.com/main/accountnowgd/Home
to get a little bit better picture of your account
I’m pretty sure you can pull of your entire tax return amount – 3% at the teller, but um, don’t spend it all in one dispensary, and remember that gambling, liquor and wild ladies ain’t the right way to… hmm… welp, there goes the wagon again…
